This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

Even before v2 firmware is out I still had to buy comic touch.... looks brilliant.

Magique... ou presque
written by Jean-Frnçois MAGNARD, July 13, 2008

Cool app...
written by Jérôme, July 14, 2008

This is an excellent app. I agree that some simple features are missing. But creating comics on the phone is very funny.

I regret only the pref panel which is absolutely useless for this kind of application.

Silence when phone is on silent?
written by Topher, July 15, 2008

One thing I've noticed with many of the new iPhone apps, including this one, is that it seems to ignore the fact that my phone is on vibrate/silent. I'm also not able to find a place to turn the sound off.

I also agree with Jerome: if there are no settings to adjust, there's no need for a preference panel.

Thanks for reporting this issue. We will try to fix this bug in version 1.0.1.

We will be adding some preferences in the next update - so the preference panel will have some use smilies/smiley.gif

when I add text, I cant save - when I press the "done" key on the phone, it doesnt work. If I go back to the details screen, the text is gone. Help!

Could you please try the following:

1. Make sure you have a copy of Comic Touch in your iTunes library as well as on your iPhone/iPod Touch.

2. Delete Comic Touch from your iPhone Touch: Using the iPhone Touch please press and hold the Comic Touch icon until all the application icons begin to wobble. Then press the black “X” in the upper left corner of the Comic Touch icon.

3. Restart your iPhone/iPod Touch: Hold down the sleep/wake button on the top of of your device for a few seconds. A red slider will be displayed allowing you to 'power off' the device. Pres the sleep/wake button again to restart the device.

4. Sync your iPhone/iPod Touch: Connect your device to your computer again and let it sync a couple of times. Make sure that iTunes has copied Comic Touch to your iPhone/iPod Touch again.

5. Restart your iPhone/iPod Touch again (as in step 3).

Then please try again...

Please do let me know how you go,

Looks great but
written by Scott S., July 18, 2008

I bought the Comic Touch App but immediatly after downloading I tried to use it and I was given the message Comic Touch cannot be opened. I have already restarted my iPhone but to no avail. Will this be fixedby the next update?

Multi-line captions in wrong font
written by Jon A, July 19, 2008

I noticed that when you try to add a caption with a line break in it, the font reverts to the system default font, rather than the comic font.

Would be nice to have automatic line-wrapping in captions... otherwise, this is a great little app and will no doubt come in handy...

I forgot to say that there's no way back if you tap on 'new comic' by mistake... would be good to have a cancel button

Some thoughts
written by Tev Kaber, July 19, 2008

Fun app, good price!

Features I would like to see:
* sound effects off option
* undo
* ability to scale and delete balloons and captions
* maybe the ability to chain several images together for a newspaper-style comic strip output
* linked speech bubbles like in the desktop version would be cool too.

Sorta bug:
* if you drag a balloon under the top menu or bottom menu, you can't get to it to move it back

Keep up the good work!

Please try removing Comic Touch as per my five step process above. Hope it helps. Let us know please!

This will be fixed on 1.0.1 smilies/smiley.gif

We have this added to the feature requests list. Thanks!

Your Comic is automatically saved, so you can re-access it under saved comics. But I will also add it to feature request list.

* sound effects off option

We plan to add this as an Option in a future release.

* undo

We may implement this in a future release.

* ability to scale and delete balloons and captions

You may delete balloons/captions by pressing and holding for a couple of seconds. The Balloons/captions will start to wiggle and you can then delete using the "X". Tap somewhere other than an "X" to get out of the Delete mode. Hope that helps!

maybe the ability to chain several images together for a newspaper-style comic strip output

Thanks for the suggestion - this is not something we plan to do in the short term. But I will definitely add it to the list of suggestions.

We may implement this in a future release. Not planned in the short term.

* if you drag a balloon under the top menu or bottom menu, you can't get to it to move it back

Thanks - we will take a look and see if we can make any improvements.

Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions.

Hope everyone is having a ball with Comic Touch!

Suggestions for improvement
written by Peter321, July 21, 2008

Nice 1.0 version, but I hope you add a bit more to the program as the initial version is a bit of a disappointment.

What I would like to see:

Scaling of speechbubbles and switch between left/right types (now only left types possible)

Integration with addressbook or mail program (to avoid manually adding adresses).

Preference for image size (current size is quite small)

More effects and more effect-options, including ability to scale effects (to only process smaller part of the image).

Looking forward to future versions.

Hello there Peter321,

Thanks for purchasing Comic Touch - and thank you for your feedback. Two of those options are already available.

Scaling of speechbubbles and switch between left/right types (now only left types possible)

You just need to touch the tail and move it in place. 360 degree type tails are available smilies/smiley.gif
And if you double tap on balloon, you can then change the size of the text.

Integration with addressbook or mail program (to avoid manually adding adresses).

Press the Blue and white " " to the right hand side of the To: field - address book will appear.

Preference for image size (current size is quite small)

This is something we hope to add in the near future.

More effects and more effect-options, including ability to scale effects (to only process smaller part of the image).

Thanks for the suggestion. We will add it to the list of requested features.

Thanks again!

Very-very good

How to Edit E-mail favourites list?
written by Rogbi200, July 24, 2008

Enjoying Comic touch! I posted this on the forum, but this thread looks more active, so...
How do I edit the list of favourite e-mail addresses in the e-mail screen- I've got four or five saved, but need to make a change to one of them. I can't even see a way of deleting and setting a new one in its place...

Thanks

Hi there Rogbi200!

Tap on the arrow in the blue circle - it works the same way you drill onto a favorite in the favorite phone numbers. Hope that helps!

...
written by Rogbi200, July 26, 2008

Thanks- though I wouldn't have found this had you not told me- the first few times I tried, it just selected the whole circle and offered me the send/preview/cancel options- you seem to have to be quite precise, or just sharpen your fingertip! Anyway, problem solved, thanks!

I did a Spanish translation. If you want for your new versión, only email me.
Thanks for that great application.

Problems mailing
written by KJB, August 02, 2008

I'm having problems mailing my comics. When I pick an address from my contact list the "send" button in the upper right corner is grayed out and will not send the comic. (I also added my flickr mail address to the favorites ... and the image never seems to get there. Could be unrelated .. but I had to add that to the bug report.)

iPod with comic touch
written by Luke H, August 09, 2008

Great app, but there are a few little things that could make it a lot better.
- please allow the iPod app to run in the background while using comic touch. Most other apps allow this. The iPhone drawing app 'Sketches' allows this.
- there needs to be an option to rotate background photos.
- many of the icons in the app look very similiar and it is unclear what many of them do without trying them.
- the Japanese keyboard is very slow when using comic touch. This may be an OS problem.

Improve shutter speed
written by l-i-n-k, August 23, 2008

Thank you for your support via email. I try to share my issue with all other users (who might already know)
If you need to edit or delete a favourite email address: hold your fingertip on the blue arrow of the desired one for a while...

To delete an email address added as a favorite, please do the following:

Within Comic Touch:
- select the 'Sharing' icon
- Under, 'Web upload accounts etc.' select the saved email address you wish to delete, by pressing the blue button and holding it for a few seconds
- Press the 'Delete Favorite' option when it appears

There's room for improvement regarding the camera option
- the shutter is incredible slow
- geodata gets lost or will not be captured

And I do agree: The top icon menu needs a overhaul - too many faces.
a) usually there is a " " for adding new stuff
b) some applications use a "folder" or "shelf" icon to access my collection
