Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Comic Life update problems - 2008/11/12 00:13 Hi all,

At the risk of sounding really stupid, I'm going to post my problem here and will be grateful if anyone can help.

I just downloaded a Comic Life update today and now I can't actually open any of my saved projects or even start a new one. I've restarted the machine, but no luck still.

Anybody else having the same problem or have any suggestions?

Many Thanks,

Terri

Re:Comic Life update problems - 2008/11/12 00:37 I am sorry you are having troubles after the update.

In some rare circumstances the preferences file can get corrupted; this may be the problem.

Try trashing this file (you will need to reset your Comic Life preferences again).

1. Make sure you are not running Comic Life
2. Find the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.plasq.ComicLife.plist

(~ is the users directory)

10.4 users can just search for com.plasq.ComicLife.plist
Use show all

3. trash this file
4. restart comic life.

Does that fix it?

Please let us know how you go.

Re:Comic Life update problems - 2008/11/12 00:59 I can support that the new update 1.4.2 does not work properly. I updated from within the 1.4.1 and after install and restart the splash screen comes up and just stays. Trashing the prefs files allows the splash screen to go away, and produces the request for email screen, but after that does not allow for the opening of a new project or opening previous files. Replacing the new version with the previous version returns all functions to normal.

Re:Comic Life update problems - 2008/11/12 01:50 Same thing for me. I just installed the update for 1.4.2 and after the splash screen I can't open any of my comics or start a fresh one. I tried deleting the preferences file, but still no luck. Until this bug is fixed, I'm going to have to go back to the previous version.
