Comic Life packs a lot of 'Brawn'!
Cranium Comics has recently launched their first four color comic, Brawn #1.

"I used Comic Life on my Mac exclusively to lay out the storyboards, then later when I created and colored all 24 pages of the issue," recounted Anthony Rezendes, the owner of Cranium Comics and co-creator of Brawn.

The comic 'Brawn' focuses on a dockworker named Sam Ross who was reborn as the hero "Brawn" after he was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident.

"Being an illustrator, it saved me quite a bit of time from having to lay all the text bubbles out manually. It made the process of actually creating the comic that much more enjoyable," Mr. Rezendes added.

We think this comic is great! So check out 'Brawn' on the Cranium Comics site or read the first 5 pages on our Comic Life gallery.

non-comic text for web link - 2008/02/11 23:44 I'm looking to make a 'direct link' about 1 inch x 1 inch with text over top. I'll html code the image/text so that the code can be pasted into another site (linking back to mine for image). When clicked it will open back to my site.

Is it possible to use plain ole regular text in Comic Life to apply text over a small image then move it out into my site? All I can find is comic text and any attempt I make to pick something like Georgia, meets with comic text result...

And can you work with such a small image?

Sure can. Make sure you have 1.4.1 - download from here: http://plasq.com/downloads/

First go to Comic Life > Preferences, and change it so the "Page Size Units" is in Inches. Then go to File > Page Format... and make a 1 by 1 page size.

Then Drop in Panel, and caption that you want -- then once you have the caption reselected you can go to Details tab > and click Choose down the button. Now you can change the font to what you want.

Then you can export out your 1 x 1 inch image ... ready for your website.

Here is one I created in less than a minute :
