"incoming" audio in logic7 - 2005/03/06 02:06 hey there

guess its all my mistake, but what i just don't get:

recording with musolomo from an audiotrack with already existing sounds in logic 7 works perfectly.
strange thing is: when i want to record real "live" performance, the appropriate audio track in logic obviously has to be set to "record standby" (in order to receive external audio).
in then musolomo seems NOT to record/
playback...

my sidechain routing is just as it was before. when i actually RECORD the incoming material in logic
first und THEN do the sampling with musolomo, everything works fine!...?

this looks like a logic routing problem, but as said: apart from playing back RECORDED material instead of RECORD STANDBY material, my setting are completely the same.

whats my mistake?

Re:"incoming" audio in logic7 - 2005/03/06 04:49 Well, It is not you fault Dany.
It should work but it doesn't.

I guess Logic's fault.

To do what you want , just use the "Input" object as sidechain instead of Track in musolomo.

BTW: I can only see mono inputs, is Musolomo mono only?

Re:"incoming" audio in logic7 - 2005/03/06 06:03 oh, thank you so much.
"input" does work indeed. and you're right about the stereo.
in my particular case, thats not too bad, since i want to record a cello, which is mono anyway, but musolomo should display stereo-input pairs too, right you are.
thanks again.

Re:"incoming" audio in logic7 - 2005/03/08 05:03 Muso is stereo only, so it should work in stereo
I'll look at it.

Re:"incoming" audio in logic7 - 2005/03/11 14:00 The way I've set things up, which is working well, is to use a bus as the sidechain input for Musolomo. Then send to the bus from whatever you want to sample.

Note that in Logic, if you record enable a track, the corresponding input object will have its sends disabled in favour of the record-enabled track's sends. Auxes with input sources can be used instead of input objects to avoid this if required.

I've cabled up a Logic environment so I can hold down a pad on the microKONTROL then hit a note to select which audio object sends to the musolomo sidechain bus, for input control from the keyboard. The microKONTROL makes quite a nice wee controller for musolomo.
