Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 Beta released
We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.

It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.

Please visit the forum for more information, including where to download the beta.

Thank you very much for your help testing the future!

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Re:Pricing - 2005/04/18 09:50 I downloaded ComicLife last week. I'm a long-time comic book reader/collector and I do like to do something fun and creative with comic storytelling and art when I have more free time.

It's pretty buggy to me so far, same concerns as others have stated.

Would like to see few features added to enhance creativity and development with Comic Life:

1 - Background does not always have to be white. Optional 1-color or gradient color for background should be an added feature.

2 - Draw/design own panels. End-points can be deleted or added.

3 - Font and Font Modification Tool Box should be a part of the program, not a separate part.

4 - Export to PDF would be great.

You should create two programs in the future: Comic Life and Comic Life Pro. Comic Life is what the current version look like now, for fun and simple development while Comic Life Pro is for pro writers, artists and multimedia developers.

Price for the current Comic Life is a bit steep ($40) but can afford it. I suggest $29.95 as a starter for first-timers and children but that's up to you.

Keep developing and enhancing Comic Life to be a fantastic comic book development tool for artists, writers, first-timers and developers out there.

Most of the bugs found so far have been fixed and will an official release will be made available shortly.

This is already available in the page details. Deselect everything on the page to access the page details (on the Details tab).

2 - Draw/design own panels. End-points can be deleted or added.

Also available - though not quite as elegantly as one would like (will be addressed in an update).

On the Panel Details tab you can make a panel "irregular" and specify up to 8 control points.

3 - Font and Font Modification Tool Box should be a part of the program, not a separate part.

Unfortunately it's a Cocoa standard and embedding it is a big job. (plus we're not sure where it would go if it was to be embedded!)

4 - Export to PDF would be great.

Available via the File->Print menu. Use the "Save As PDF..." button on the Print sheet.

This is an interesting idea we'll have a think about it.

We're listening to the opinions here and elsewhere - and of course monitoring actual sales!

Thanks. We plan to make it the best photo-comic tool around

Robert.

Re:Pricing - 2005/04/23 05:19 I go out of the country for a few lousy days, and look what happens...

As the jerk who started this thread, I want to congratulate you guys for such incredible responsiveness. It's amazing to see such a terrific piece of software. It's mind-bogglingly amazing to see it updated so quickly and diligently. But it's absofrickinlutely, stunningly, droolingly mind-bogglingly amazing to see the price adjusted in response to customer feedback.

$24.95 is exactly the right price. I'm digging into my wallet and clicking the "Register" button right NOW.

Hats off, deep bow, warm applause. Go get 'em, boys.
