midi mapping - 2006/12/14 15:28 bummer, friends.
i just got my new midi controller and musolomo.

it's really not working for me.
perhaps someone can explain this for me:

it worked a few days ago, but since then, a strange problem has come up. it won't let me map the midi keys. out of the box, musolomo basically didn't work, the keys defined to record, copy, and etc. didn't work and the only way i could get it to properly function was to reset those keys to others. now, it won't even do that.

i'm fairly certain it's not the controller itself, as the Midi Track In Indicator blinks green whenever I hit a key, and all of my key definitions for midi stuff IN ableton itself work fine. Just not Musolomo.

If it helps, Musolomo works when I trigger the stuff directly through the GUI. Just not with my controller. Which pretty much renders this VST useless for me.

I want to cry.

Please help.

Specs:
Ableton Live 5.2 and 6.0
Powerbook G4, OSX 10.4.2. 1.5 ghz

Re:midi mapping - 2006/12/22 09:38 hi there jaga

(not a bassist by any chance?)

due to the nature of the musolomo chain, you need to remember to keep a midi channel 'open' in Live which is sending midi messages to the musolomo plugin on an audio channel. (The manual has some detailed info on this setup)

Perhaps that channel got turned off in your Live Set?

Re:midi mapping - 2007/12/06 09:15 huh, i seem to be having a similar problem. when you control click hold or any other button, should it have some kind of visual cue that it's ready for a midi note? the midi notes i'm trying are all free in live, don't seem to be blocked in any way.

Re:midi mapping - 2007/12/06 19:53 Unfortunately theres not a visual cue - and in retrospect this wasn't the best design

Perhaps try dragging in musolomo again.. there may be some internal event loop or something.

Hope that helps
