Cranium Comics has recently launched their first four color comic, Brawn #1.
"I used Comic Life on my Mac exclusively to lay out the storyboards, then later when I created and colored all 24 pages of the issue," recounted Anthony Rezendes, the owner of Cranium Comics and co-creator of Brawn.
The comic 'Brawn' focuses on a dockworker named Sam Ross who was reborn as the hero "Brawn" after he was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident.
"Being an illustrator, it saved me quite a bit of time from having to lay all the text bubbles out manually. It made the process of actually creating the comic that much more enjoyable," Mr. Rezendes added.
We think this comic is great! So check out 'Brawn' on the Cranium Comics site or read the first 5 pages on our Comic Life gallery.

I have unistalled and reinstalled but it still happens. Unfortunately it is behind the comic life icon when it comes up so i can't get any more details. After closing the error message in task manager the program opens but then closes automatically... Any thoughts? i would love to get this working on my computer!
Nickv, are any crash.dmp files created in your Comic Life folder?
If so can you please email them to clwinbeta@plasq.com

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta - 2007/05/22 07:07Well done. And congrats to the porter (I see they have usually experience the other way around actually). I was surprised (happily) to see how faithfully the port sticked to the CL's spirit, and how far the port was pushed (It must have been quite a lot of work to recreate all these effects that are given for free by Mac OS). I guess the influx of feedback from the "dark side" will make CL evolve for the best.
Although we must be careful not to fall into the fateful trap of the cluttered interface (I think of tiny parts of the feedback of cybrpunk: most of his requests are spot-on, some of them -about adding more controls on the toolbar- might stem from another UI approach.) I second, on the other hand, his request for numerical input fields for some controls (all the width controls etc. It makes hard to replicate between elements). But in the details view.
All in all, a very agreable surprise, and I am ready to bet, a bright future for both CL versions. (It will be a challenge to keep both versions up to par) A tiny bit sad to lose one of the "unfair" last resort arguments I was using to convince friends to buy a Mac... But glad to see how far and well CL has grown, on to conquer the world(s).
Well done guys!
Now, fasten you seatbelts, the doors of hell are about to open, and zillions of users will come with weird requests, complaints, bugs, ... and sometimes, as it is already the case, with thanks and congratulations.
Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta - 2007/05/22 19:13Well isn't that just great! I saw this program a few years ago and instantly fell in love. However I have been working in the PC field for 20 plus years. I showed it to friends, installed it on demo computers in the stores and just loved it. I really hated that I couldn't find it for the Windows scene.
I found a comparable program for Windows, but it just wasn't the same.
I now teach English in Korea and I went and bought a MacBook with it installed (pretty much the ONLY reason I bought the MacBook).
I love it!!!! Thanks for the product and now doubly thanks for the Windows Beta. I've downloaded it and will show my children how to use it.
My Korean students really like it when I make a comic book for them to read about our exploits here as teachers.
Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta - 2007/05/22 22:40What version of Windows will this be compatible with? I just bought a new computer and it came with Vista. I have the Beta version and it works fine but I figured I would throw that out there.
Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta - 2007/05/24 17:35Thank you xrissley and Shawn for the positive comments

It will be compatible with XP and Vista.
Some users are experiencing some issues installing on both, but we are trying to work that out.
Would also like to hear feedback on how people have gone registering with the Beta key on Vista - some people seem to be having issue when selected "All Users On This Computer".
