Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta - 2007/05/22 05:07
Well done. And congrats to the porter (I see they have usually experience the other way around actually). I was surprised (happily) to see how faithfully the port sticked to the CL's spirit, and how far the port was pushed (It must have been quite a lot of work to recreate all these effects that are given for free by Mac OS). I guess the influx of feedback from the "dark side" will make CL evolve for the best. Although we must be careful not to fall into the fateful trap of the cluttered interface (I think of tiny parts of the feedback of cybrpunk: most of his requests are spot-on, some of them -about adding more controls on the toolbar- might stem from another UI approach.) I second, on the other hand, his request for numerical input fields for some controls (all the width controls etc. It makes hard to replicate between elements). But in the details view.
All in all, a very agreable surprise, and I am ready to bet, a bright future for both CL versions. (It will be a challenge to keep both versions up to par) A tiny bit sad to lose one of the "unfair" last resort arguments I was using to convince friends to buy a Mac... But glad to see how far and well CL has grown, on to conquer the world(s).
Well done guys!
Now, fasten you seatbelts, the doors of hell are about to open, and zillions of users will come with weird requests, complaints, bugs, ... and sometimes, as it is already the case, with thanks and congratulations.
