Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Comic Life won't re-open comics properly - 2007/05/24 06:44 I've now encountered this problem 3 times.. sometimes comic life documents opened on a different computer (but with same version 1.3.3 ) do not open properly. What I see is the image of the first (and only) page thumbnail on the bar at the side, but nothing in the main window. The page will never show up in the main window, even with moving it around, creating new pages, etc. Also, documents with this issue do not print at all, and exporting typically fails or behaves oddly (for example some of the text boxes don't export with the images). I've now experienced this problem enough times that I feel like it's commonplace.. is there a fix for this? It seems most common with 1 page comics.

Re:Comic Life won't re-open comics properly - 2007/05/24 16:11 Hello Jesse,

Apologies for the issues you seem to be having. Nobody else has reported issues when going between computers with version 1.3.3

I think we will need to see some of those files.

Are you able to .zip the file up and email it to us (if less than 10mb) or upload it to a website or use a program like http://www.pando.com/ to send me the file?

Email : plasq at plasq dot com

Thanks for your patience.

Re:Comic Life won't re-open comics properly - 2007/05/25 09:19 Hi Jesse and Kramy,
I am finding exactly the same issues here. It isn't a a one off. The issue is appearing on both intel and PPC macs. We are using 1.3.3 as well.

Cheers

Roberto.

Re:Comic Life won't re-open comics prope - 2007/05/25 11:13 G'day,

I am experiencing the same issue here where we are unable to edit comic life documents even though the page thumbnail within comic life displays it fine.

I'm the local tech at a large Primary School with many Macs and it appears to happen on both ppc and x86 hardware. All student work is kept in afp shares and are worked on from different macs throughout the day.

Could it be that some comics were created with an older version of CL and since upgrading to 1.3.3 has caused issues reading the older files?

Just wondering if there's anything I can try to help solve this problem. All the macs are currently running CL Deluxe v1.3.3 under 10.4.9

Cheers, hope this helps.. let me know if you would like me to email you any of the comics.

Hey there Leith, that is very much a possibility.

What version was installed before you had 1.3.3?

Yes please send us some example comics to the email address in my previous post.

Thanks heaps!
