Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

2 Printing Problems - 2005/04/25 08:50 First, I would like to print the manual, but my screen doesn't correspond to the PAQ instructions. There is no print icon, and I can't print from the menu. (Also can't copy and paste.)

Second, I want to print an 8.5 x 11 page. Even though the page prints beautifully, it's about 2/3 size. The iPhoto book option doesn't seem to help. What am I doing wrong? (I use an Epson Stylus Photo RX 600 with OS 10.3.9.)

Fantastic program!!!

Re:2 Printing Problems - 2005/04/25 10:16 Hi Judy,

To print the manual (you'll need at least 1.0.1 to do this) click on the "Printable Manual" in the help contents and then immediately after choose File->Print... (if it's not enabled click on the Printable Manual item again). You should then get the standard print sheet and be good to go. (I'll get the PAQ entry updated).

As far as page size goes Comic Life ships with the Web Page (small) page size selected by default - this is because it paper sizes are different around the world and we had difficulty getting the appropriate paper size from the printer info in order to select the correct page size in our list of page types. To choose a different default page size go to Comic Life Preferences and select US Letter. (This will only affect new comics though).

To change the current comics page size choose File->Page Format... and set the page size in the sheet - clicking OK updates the comic to the new page size.

Hope that helps,

Robert.

Re:2 Printing Problems - 2005/04/25 12:53 Manual now printed -- thank you!

I also received an answer about the second problem. I had created the original project in the small web font and then tried to change to letter size just before printing.

Everyone can give me a big "duh" right now. I'm an experienced Mac user and shouldn't have made this mistake, but you might want to include it in your PAQs for people who are less experienced.

Finally -- a fantastic photo app written by Mac people for Mac people. Life is good!

Re:2 Printing Problems - 2005/04/25 15:34 Hey Judy. Did the manual turn out ok?

Good point on the page size. I can see how that could be over looked. I will add it to the PAQ

Re:2 Printing Problems - 2005/04/25 15:43 I "printed" the manual to PDF and it's perfect, search feature and all. Thanks for the great support.

I sure do wish you guys well! I've been an Apple user since the beginning of the company, so I REALLY appreciate a true Macintosh product. I think this app fills a real need, and I feel sure you'll be incredibly successful.
