We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.
It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.
Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...
This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.
If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".
Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Thanks Keith. Will keep that in mind if this issue ever shows its ugly head again. Though I think I did try that. It wasn't until I deleted that hidden file that it started to work again. I appreciate your attention to this issue.

Hi kalpain,
This might provide some more insight. From one of our lead developers "According to the crash log, it seems skitch is crashing when loading the stat data file. So deleting the "Library/Application Support/plasq/Skitch/stats.csv" file should solve it"
Hope that helps!

Thanks again Keith. I am really curious as to what could have happened so I would really appreciate any info you guys come up with. Hopefully the crash log at the top of the posts helps. I had so much going on when this happened I don't know if it was the iLife update or me copying my old history and app support folder. It would definitely be interesting to know if they are able to find anything. Most appreciated.

Hi kalpain
I'm so very glad you got it working again. Indeed a very strange an unexpected problem, but you were definitely the 'Sherlock' in finding the answer. I'll share your solution with the plasq team and hopefully we can find the reason why it happened in the first place.. although it seems perhaps system related and beyond our control. Many thanks for the high level of detail, and thank you for your support of Skitch.

No problem Keith. Thanks for your response. Actually I was able to finally resolve the issue last night. However, the 2 files you mentioned didn't seem to effect the issue. As I stated before I was able to delete all the skitch files from my machine (or so I thought). This includes the com.plasq.skitch.plist file. The com.plasq.skitch.history wasn't getting created. I assume because the program was crashing at start up. So when I say I deleted all the Skitch and Plasq files this includes the .plist file as well. Keep in mind my saved search includes all system and spotlight files.
Now for the strangeness of the fix. So Skitch had been completely removed from my machine. At least I believe to be because my saved search yielded no results. However, while looking in my
~libraryapplication support folder I ran across a folder called Plasq that contained a folder call Skitch that was empty. I thought this was weird as it did not come up in my search. I test my search again and it found other folders in that app support folder but it would not find the Plasq folder. So I deleted that folder.
I was disturbed by the fact that my search didn't find the Plasq folder so I modified it to included both visible and invisible files. To my surprise there was an invisible file that was called something like ".com.plasq.something something.history.crash" (I wish I had written the name down so as to be more exact). I managed to delete that file. I manually clicked through some of the library files and couldn't find any more plasq or skitch files. Then I reinstalled Skitch (dragged to applications folder). This time when I started it up it loaded normally. No more crash logs at start up before the program crashing.
So far it has been working ever since. I rebooted a couple of times. I copied a few screenshots and all seems to be good again. This was a very strange issue but I am glad I was able to get it working again. Thanks again Keith for your suggestions. Hopefully this can help someone in the future. Still have no idea what caused this but thankfully it all seems to be well now.

Hi kalpain,
Sorry - my mistake. I forgot that these files do not show up in searches! My apologies)
Go to your home directory (your name) > Library >Preferences and you will find both files there, then please zip them up and delete the originals as I mentioned above.. please do let me know how you go.
