This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

keith I've checked with our key Wormhole expert and he offers this:

A normal network problem it would appear. The machines need to be on the same subnet.. otherwise udp/tcp communication can't work.

So you can't have one machine with a self-assigned DHCP address and one with 192.168.x.x... basically the machines need to be set up to allow networking. It's the same for similar things like file-sharing.

I hope that clarifies the issue a little. Networking can be a complex thing unfortunately.
Ryan Z I don't know if this thread is still alive or not but . . . I was playing with wormhole in a similar situation (host = logic pro on mac, slave = Live 6 on PC laptop).

It worked great the first time I fired it up. But the second night I experienced the exact problem you have been describing in this thread. The only difference I could find was that on the first night, my gigabit ethernet router switch connecting my mac and pc was connected to it's uplink to my main netgear router and thus connected to the internet. It worked then.

On the second night when things weren't working, I didn't have the uplink cable to the netgear router connected.

So I plugged it in and "repaired the connection" on the pc. This caused my netgear router to give the pc a local IP address 192.168. . . . ect. And then . . . bingo - it worked.

What's going on?

Desmond Hi Keith, sorry I didn't see your reply, I had long since given up...

No, I had not purchased Wormhole, I was simply trying to get the demo to work to work out whether it was useful to me.

Just a quick update: in the meantime, I've upgraded to Tiger.8 (and stuck a gigabit ethernet card on the PC - not that that should affect anything other than the bandwidth).

On an off chance I tried the WH2 demo again, no changes to any firewall configs or anything - and it *works* with the PC for the first time, both in a one-way and an insert configuration!

So, if anyone has similar problems to me (read my above posts) and is running Panther, try upgrading to Tiger.

When I get some time I can at least have a play now and work out how practical it is on my system...

Thanks all, and have a great Christmas...
keith Im sorry to hear that Wormhole couldn't work on your network/s in the end after all your effort.

Unfortunately, networking can be a very complex thing, with many many factors. Also, somehow we missed these posts on this forum - we've looked into this and made some internal changes.

If you have purchased WH, and it's not working in your network situation, we're happy to offer a refund - please send us an email.

We like to offer the demo for people to try first, to make sure it works on their system.

Again, our apologies for the slow reply.

desmond Cheers Bah, yeah I thought I was alone I this as well. I've killed *way* too many hours trying to get it to work without much success.

It's a shame, because in this day and age more and more people have multiple computers that have significant power to help their available processing grunt, so products like this are becoming really useful.

Shame, because it would have been a great way to access my UAD-1 card in the PC from my Mac laptop...
