Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

First create a comic using a Comic Life template.

Save it as a jpg.

Open the jpg in Photoshop CS3 Extended.

Open a Quicktime movie in Photoshop CS3 Extended. Convert the Quicktime movie into a Smart Object. Drag the Smart Object over a panel in the comic layer. Resize using Transform.

Then Export: Render Video.



This creates a comic with one panel as a movie. [img]

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, it is something we have considered in the past for Comic Life - but is not something we are planning on implementing sometime soon as it needs a lot of thought and planning to "get it right". At the moment, we are working on Comic Life 1.3 so it would be awhile after that if we were to add this functionality.

Bert Schreibstein I post alot of my Comic Life creations on webpages. In a recent Harry Potter movie the wanted poster and newspaper articles about "Serious Jack" have "movies" where photos are normally placed. I was wondering if there is any thought to allowing .mov or mpegs files to be placed in a comic frame, so that it can be exported to html and used on web pages. Of course I would like to be able to use captions on these frames as well.
