Kent	Matt, I can confirm that your trick works. It's a nice short term fix, especially since I rarely touch my aperture library from those apps. Ohh and I couldn't help myself but to Skitch up a shot of the prefernce to turn off. Skitch is waayyy too much fun!

Just for kicks I created a new Aperture library on a secondary drive and pointed Aperture at that and launched Skitch, and had the same crash.
