Cranium Comics has recently launched their first four color comic, Brawn #1.
"I used Comic Life on my Mac exclusively to lay out the storyboards, then later when I created and colored all 24 pages of the issue," recounted Anthony Rezendes, the owner of Cranium Comics and co-creator of Brawn.
The comic 'Brawn' focuses on a dockworker named Sam Ross who was reborn as the hero "Brawn" after he was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident.
"Being an illustrator, it saved me quite a bit of time from having to lay all the text bubbles out manually. It made the process of actually creating the comic that much more enjoyable," Mr. Rezendes added.
We think this comic is great! So check out 'Brawn' on the Cranium Comics site or read the first 5 pages on our Comic Life gallery.
This 1.3.5 update changes where default temp files are saved, to reflect the recommended guidelines; resolving some issues affecting some schools. This update also includes several other fixes.
This is a free update for all users and can be downloaded from our Downloads page.
Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/08 18:33Hey plasq fans/customers/sock puppet aficionados,
plasq and it's members started as a Audio / Music focused crew who also happened to do Comic Life. While a quirky combination, it proved to be an incompatible mix for a small company. Not to mention as humanoids like you, our minds and hearts wander and we found ourselves more interested in the visual side of software. The quirky bit isn't going to change though
We decided to focus on directions where we believe we can make the biggest difference and also enjoy what we do. With the excitedly received announcement of Skitch and of course, Comic Life, you can see this direction taking form.
Be sure, we didn't make this decision lightly, but have decided to stop selling Rax 2 and Wormhole2.
We will certainly continue to offer support for Rax 2 and Wormhole 2 for existing licensed users for a year after purchase date, give or... give, an extra half a year on top of that.
We are still very proud of these products however - so it seems a terrible waste to just let them die.
So... what now? Well, we want your thoughts on exactly that!
Some of the options: * Sell them to a company that better suits the products (and vice versa!) * Release for free but without support or updates. (owners will still receive support) * Open source the projects. ** Wormhole might make sense to hand over to a project like Jack / JackOS X
Now it's your turn to talk
Cris

Re:Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/09 05:39I just came here today cause wormhole was on my to-be-purchased-list for quite some time and I decided to buy it this month. And now you stopped selling it, well that's too bad.. Do you plan to release it as no-support-free-version any time?
If there's still a chance to get it, I'd love to know..

As I'm a big fan of opensource software and try to give back to the community whenever I can by providing my time for beta-testing, releasing my own plugs/skins for free and donating to devs that release extra-ordinary free software, my vote is this:
-> release the latest binaries for free without support and perhaps release the source code as it could be a great step forward for the linux world.. I'm just getting into making music with linux now that energyXT2 evolves on that platform. It would be a great addition if we could use a linux-box alongside osx/win.
Re:Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/09 07:43Wow, it's funny as I was just planning on buying both Wormhole & Rax 2 later this year when I buy a Mac to complement my PC setup (I also want to run Metasynth as that is unlikely to ever be ported to Windows).
In any case, I think that Wormhole SHOULD be made open-source in order to keep maximum potential for future platforms (Linux, future Mac OS versions, Windows, etc.) and plug-in formats (DX version?).
As for RAX, I think based on the tight integration between it and aspects of OSX, it should be sold off to Apple if possible, if not, then open it up for possible Linux development.
