Background colour transparent - how? - 2009/06/27 05:15 For all you people used to graphics apps I'm sure this function is very straightforward - as a musician I don't really know how so a bit of help would be really useful. I would like to know how to set the background colour to transparent, and I see that is a function in Skitch. I would like to snap some text written in say Word or Pages, then make the white background transparent. Is that what this function can do? And if so, how? Many thanks.

Re:Background colour transparent - how? - 2009/06/28 05:57 When you "SNAP" you're grabbing a white background that's harder to get rid of. Batter to simply select the text in Pages, COPY, move to Skitch, PASTE.

Then, in Skitch go to

Image -> Backgrould Color to Transparent.

Is there a specific reason you're using SNAP instead of copy/paste?

Re:Background colour transparent - how? - 2009/12/13 02:29 I need this feature to paste mathematical equations from pdf documents into text documents. Is there any other way to do it, maybe a way that conserves the neat vector graphics of the pdf equation?

The way I do this now is by snapping the equation from the pdf document zoomed as much as possible in on the equation and then opening the snap in Pixelmator, using magic wand on the white background and _every_ enclosed white spot in letters (quite tedious), and deleting the whitespace. This way I can have a bitmap PNG with transparent background. Not optimal, but the best solution I can think of.
Any ideas?
