'Rax compatible' Quartz Compositions - 2006/06/14 06:00
As you may have noticed, Rax 2 is out, and it includes support for Quartz Composition Visualizers. If you'd like to learn how to make your Quartz Compositions 'Rax-compatible', then read on..
Quartz Composer is an application which allows you to 'visually program' your own visualizations. You can get some background here: http://www.quartzcompositions.com/
Quartz Composer is included on the 10.4 'Developer' CD/DVD of OS X, and is not installed by default - you need to install it yourself.
Rax will load any QC that you build. However, you can also make your QC's respond to Rax MIDI and Audio by making them 'Rax compatible'.
With a little bit of reading and testing you can have your own custom visualizers which will respond to your playing and control in Rax.
Grab the Rax QC SDK . The package contains the Rax visualizer template, a Rax QC how-to manual and the RaxVision QC-compatibility testing application. http://plasq.com/download/RaxQC_SDK.zip
