Comic Life for Windows and Comic Life for Mac have both been recently updated.

You may find the release notes for Comic Life for Windows (1.3.6) here and Comic Life for Mac (1.4.3) here.

This update is also for the Deluxe version.

Please download from within Comic Life or from our downloads page.

Updates are free for all registered users.

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 Beta released
We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.

It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

 Comic Life for Windows 1.3.6 Beta! - 2008/10/06 19:03 Hello there Comic Life lovers!

We are proud to announce the latest beta of Comic Life for Windows - 1.3.6!

It has several bug fixes and improvements over 1.3.5 (pre-release notes below) - so we would love it if you could please download and report back to us if you have any issues.

How to submit a bug report:

Reply in this thread with:
1. Build and revision number you are using (i.e., 1.3.6 - v71)
2. Reproducible steps to recreate the bug/issue
*3. Screenshots (useful in showing the bug or error messages)
*4. System specs
*5. Any other files you think might be useful (images etc)

* 3, 4, 5 steps are optional

If Comic Life crashes, please detail what you were doing at the time. These reports are VERY valuable.

  • Can now change the default camera device used in the "Capture" tab (double click on the video view and a 'Video Source' dialog will show up, if supported.)

  • Only Image related files will now be shown in the Explorer view

  • Fixed redraw issues pertaining to images, text and balloons when using "Undo"

  • If a file is incomplete (i.e., computer was turned off during a save), Comic Life will try to open the file with a warning message

  • Now saves to a tempory file first, before overwriting the original; a much safer save

  • Now remembers the last folder viewed in Explorer when Comic Life was last used

  • Improved compatibility when opening up Mac created Comic Life files

  • Fixed a stability issue sometimes caused by resizing multiple items

  • Moving an image out of a panel, saving and then closing the document no longer brings up a crash dialogue

  • Improved stability when browsing photos on a Mapped Network Drive

  • General stability improvements
