Misshapen multi-bubble speech ballons - - 2008/06/11 16:02
Hi guys,
I've been working on a rather substantial comic project. I'd originally been working in Comic Life, but the ability to manipulate balloon tails was an absolute killer feature and made it worth-while to transition the entire project to CLM.
Aside from stability issues (my MacBook Pro has suffered three kernel panics in the last month, vs one in the last three years, though these may be attributable to the extreme heat generated by the high CPU usage), I've noticed a particularly bizarre and irritating bug:
When reopening the file, *some* multi-bubble word balloons are strangely misshapen. Sometimes the bubbles will be separated, with one of them gaining an extra straight tail in a random direction. In one instance, a three-bubble balloon set broke up, and each of them gained long tails that joined up in a point far off on the page.
It looks like a vertex issue.
Any manipulation of an affected bubble, such as moving the bubble (just one individual; not the entire set) or editing the text causes the problem to disappear. However, this does mean that whenever I open the project, I have to visit each page to check that there aren't any misshapen bubbles before exporting.
The effect is purely random. Closing and reopening the file (without saving) produces different results. Sometimes none of the balloons are misshapen, sometimes only different ones.
