This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

Latest version won't even mount - 2008/11/19 06:17 I have downloaded the latest version of CL (the 1.4.2 comiclife.dmg file) several times over the last few times with various browsers and every time when I try to mount the dmg image I get an error message saying "corrupt image" or somethng similar. I've never had this happen before.

How is everybody else getting this thing to work? Am I the only one having this problem? Perhaps it's an OS thing - I'm using 10.3.9 (I lose my ProTools hardware if I upgrade to 10.4), but that doesn't really seem likely; none of the other dmg images I have downloaded recently have done this.

I have used CL before and wanted to see how it has changed but I just can't get to the point of even clicking on it.

Thanks!

Sorry you are having issues with the .dmg - very strange!

Could you please try this zip file instead.

Please let me know how you go.

Re:Latest version won't even mount - 2008/11/20 01:54 Thanks so much for posting the file that way; I had no problems with it and it seems to run fine (so far - I haven't done much with it yet, but see no immediate issues).

I really like Comic Life. I end up using it in sort of non-comic ways but I get stuff from it that would not be nearly so easy or quick to do in other programs. It is adequately quick on my old Mac (1 Ghz G4) unless I try to put too many lettering elements on a page. I wish the filters worked under 10.3.9 but I'm used to Photoshop so I can pretty much get what I want in the end anyway.

Thanks again for posting that version for me. I have no idea why the .dmg file comes up as corrupted every time.

Re:Latest version won't even mount - 2008/12/31 03:04 I found what was causing the problem; your machine is newer than mine, using a newer OS. There can be problems for Panther users mountng DMG files created on post-Panther machines, depending on how the compression is done. I think the default is probably okay but something must have gotten screwed up in your settings. Only people running Panther (fewer and fewer of these, of course) will experience the problem - Tiger and later users will not notice anything. But for the older OS users your settings are set wrong.

"Whomever is creating the disk images isn'ttaking into account that certian DMG compressions are not available in older OSX's.

You might try using a tool like DropDMG to try and convert the dmg your having problems with into a CDR and then try and mount it.

DMG ADC - 10.0 or higher
DMG zlib - 10.1 or higher
DMG bzip2 - 10.4 or higher"

Also, see this thread: http://c-command.com/forums/showthread.php?t=788 - it's called "DMG unable to mount in 10.3.9" and it's written by developers.
