This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

Selecting Two elements - 2005/05/03 21:44 Using style is a real powerfull tools, it is saving a lot of time but in some occassion i want to select two or three balloon and only change their color or shape (i don't want to create a style just for that) and it is impossible to do. Please... allow modification of balloon with multi selection! --

Re:Selecting Two elements - 2005/05/04 02:32 Hi,

Yes I understand the power of that... The problem is handling the user-interface. If you select two different balloons (and they both have different base styles) what should the UI show in the details? It can't show both styles selected in the menu and the two different background colors etc. etc.

It can only be done for elements of the type and with the same style and with that criteria - updating that style gives you the result you want today, doesn't it?

Best,

Robert.

No, because... If i only want to change two balloon out of 100 without changing the 98 others..

No, because, if i select two balloon with differents style, and i want to apply a third style.

But i understand the complexity of putting that into a UI..

Maybe... adding a "multiple style" name in the Style popup and dimming all others setting. That way at least we can change styles...

Food for tought...

Re:Selecting Two elements - 2005/05/04 03:28 That sounds good to me. Show "Multi" as the current setting for everything initially. When something is changed have an "apply to all selected items?" window pop up, so it's clear what is being done.

Programs like Word kind of do this already, so it wouldn't be too confusing to anyone who's comfortable with a computer.

Maybe have an "Allow selection of multiple objects" preference setting?
