Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

Re:Large format works perfectly - 2005/05/04 13:18 Hey wmahoski,

I used USC (17" X 22") which isn't one of the normal choices but Robert told us how to edit the plist which resides inside application. The way I set up the format I have a 1/2 inch border all the way around the paper edge. It worked out great.

I don't know if you have the experience of opening software packages and editing files but it is fairly simple. First you Control Click on Comic Life and choose Show Package Contents. Navigate to Contents > Resources > English.lproj > PageTypes.plist .

The PageTypes.plist file needs to be edited. For safety sake, option drag a backup copy to the desktop, or anywhere not in the Comic Life package. Open the plist file in a text editor. TextEdit will work although the syntax is better in BBEdit. (There is a BBEdit lite available, I'm pretty sure.)

You need to add the following text to the plist in order to get USC with a half inch border added to the format menu.

OH DAMN! The forum won't allow me to put the needed text here because there are characters which are needed in the file but can't be used here.

So I've tried to Stuff a working plist file with the USC added already. Just replace the existing PageTypes.plist with this one and you should have it. Do keep the existing file somewhere safe until you are sure it is working.

Double damn and AARGH...the forum won't allow a .sitx file, the format which Stuffit 9 automatically creates. If you don't succeed at first or second, try, try again!

I'm frustrated! This time the forum didn't have a capacity to submit a non image file after I blew it the first time with the .sitx file.

Hey wmahoski

The limitations of this forum are driving me bonkers! Just send me an e-mail and I'll send you the replacement PageTypes.plist.
