This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

4 Seasons - 2005/04/16 10:21 This comic image was made for a Photoshop forum game/contest. The theme was 4 Seasons. Players were provided a folder of images, all at least vaguely related to the seasons and required to use one or more in an image which was expressive of the natural year. Third party programs were allowed and just then I discovered Comic Life. I'm posting a link to the image rather than uploading because it is 1024 x 768 and 170k. I think it would be diminished by resizing so I'm hosting it on my iDisk and linking. http://homepage.mac.com/wellesgoodrich/4Seasons.jpg

Re:4 Seasons - 2005/04/16 17:02 Nice work

What technique did you use on the border around the outer images? Set the border to white and put the shadow inset to the middle?

Re:4 Seasons - 2005/04/17 01:22 Hi chris/atariboy,

Ho Ho. I used a preset you all included in the Styles called Faint of Heart. Yes, the shadow was centered, the blur was all the way up and the opacity was 91%. The border color itself started as a light gray, maybe an 8% gray, but the color was lightened by 'post production' sharpening.

After exporting the image as a maximum sized JPEG, I opened it in Photoshop and selected the four image panels which were styled with Faint of Heart and sharpened them by copying those to a new layer, running the High Pass filter and changing the blend mode to Overlay. It made that border detail slightly crisper and sharpened the images, both effects I desired.

Cheers!
Welles
