Re:Welcome to Comic Life Magiq - 2008/06/29 00:41 Please, please tell me there will be a Windows version. I really loved beta-testing Comic Life for Windows & will be the first one to say I'm ready to Beta test a Magiq version for Windows. I'm jealous of all those Mac folks who get this terrific program before I do. It looks amazing and I'm already a HUGE fan of CL. I tell everyone I can about this great program!

Re:Welcome to Comic Life Magiq - 2008/06/29 07:08 Hi cleasterwood,

Thanks so much for the kind words.
Comic Life Magiq takes advantage of many of the new technologies in Mac OS X 10.5 -- and as such, we have no plans to develop it for Windows unfortunately.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue to improve Comic Life for all the non-Mac OS X 10.5 users and PC users.

We're also eagerly listening to all the feedback on Comic Life Magiq and will be working to constantly improve it as well.

Many thanks for your support

Keith

Why do Mac users get all the good stuff?

I would love to see some of the bendy options in Magiq worked into the Win version. Win users deserve that functionality too. It's one of the main draw backs to CL for Windows. It's really limited me to using CL to do basic comics for family fun, but unfortunately, I'm using PSP7 for my commercial projects because of the Windows version of CL's inability to manipulate balloons, panels, etc.

Other than that I love it & recommend it for non-professionals.

Re:Welcome to Comic Life Magiq - 2008/07/21 23:58 Hamed,

Cutting someone or something out of an image takes two steps.

1) Bring in an image and click the "palette" icon to bring up the Magiq interface

2) Click the "Cut-Out" tab (number 2)

3) Click the "Magiq Snip" icon

4) Click and draw a green line over the parts of the image you want to keep. If this includes outstretched arms, make sure you draw out there, too. While doing this, you can zoom in to the picture to be more exact and use the Size tool in order to draw in smaller areas.

5) Click the "Discard" button and begin drawing in the area you want to cut out.

6) As you finish drawing, you'll see the cutout area update. You can go back and forth between Keep and Discard fine tuning your selection area.

7) Once it looks good enough, click "Done". If you see that you didn't cut out an area that needed to be cut out, go back and draw more lines or use the "Line Eraser" to erase your mistakes.

The more difference between your background and the thing you want to cut out, the more successful it will be. For example, if you've got a picture of someone wearing a dark suit against a dark background, that will be really hard to get a good Cut-Out of.
