PLEASE NOTE: Users running OS X 10.4 Tiger, and recently updated to Comic Life 1.5.1 - and are having crashing issues, please read below:
An issue has occurred with Comic Life 1.5.1 for users running OS X 10.4 Tiger where dragging images or loading documents with images is crashing the application.
For those of you that have updated, you may go back to 1.5 by downloading here.
We have now pulled the 1.5.1 update and are looking into the issue - we will release a 1.5.2 update to fix the issues as soon as we can.
We are very sorry for this issue and offer our sincerest apologies.
Not that long ago, in a galaxy not that far away, we released an update to Pharos IV: Assault!
This 1.1 updates unleashes computer assisted torpedo targeting for greater accuracy, resumption from highest level attained - no more starting over from level 1 - and fixed the stutter issue that affected iPhone 3.0 users.
Update is for both iPhone/iPod Touch and Pharos IV: Assault and Pharos IV: Assault Lite versions.
This latest update for Comic Touch (1.2.2) (direct link to App Store) addresses several issues that popped up with the release of the latest iPhone 3.0 update.
The update fixes UI display, photo rotation issues when going into landcape mode, and image effects display issues.
Please update from within iTunes or using your iPhone/iPod Touch device.

Re:Welcome to Comic Touch! - 2008/07/12 14:06Hi, there --
Bought Comic Touch this morning and am loving it! It has such a familiar feel to it, having played a bit with Comic Life. There are a few things that are confusing me, though. I've looked around for a manual, but can't find one. Is there one? If so, can you tell me where to get it?
Here are my questions:
1. How do I save a comic, as opposed to "Save Comic to Photos." Saving to photos seems to render the comic out as a single .jpg that can't be edited later.
2. How do I resize word balloons?
3. How do I lock something down -- say a word balloon -- to the picture so when I scroll the picture, the balloon moves with it?
4. Is there a way to bold some of the text in a balloon? That's such a common comic lettering trope I'd love to be able to do it in Comic Touch!
If any of these questions are about features that don't exist, please take this as a request for those features.
Re:Welcome to Comic Touch! - 2008/07/13 02:43OK, I figured out number 1 -- you just make a new comic and the other ones are stored on the phone somewhere....
The others still elude me; particularly I'd like to know how to keep elements locked down on the picture so when you slide around to see other parts of the picture, the balloons and such don't wind up moved away somewhere....
But I'm really loving this; made some awesome one-panel cartoons that have cracked my friends up.

Ditto! Just the question I wanted an answer for myself.
I would like to zoom in on a pic, add a balloon, and then zoom in on another part of the pic to add another one - without the first balloon moving out of place.
With the current method I am trying to squeeze everything into what is viewable on the screen and it is harder to size the balloons.

Thank you - glad you like it! We do not have a manual - we have tried to make it as easy as possible to use. Although, if we get enough requests then we may have to create one.

You do not need to Save a Comic. Just start a new comic - the current comic is automatically saved for you.

Fun program.
The part of the image you see on the screen is all that will be exported once you email it or save it to your iPhoto library.
I don't quite understand why you are zooming in then zooming out seeing you cannot resize the balloons? If you could give a little more detail and reasoning behind this it might help with my understanding.
Thanks for your patience!
