Not that long ago, in a galaxy not that far away, we released an update to Pharos IV: Assault!
This 1.1 updates unleashes computer assisted torpedo targeting for greater accuracy, resumption from highest level attained - no more starting over from level 1 - and fixed the stutter issue that affected iPhone 3.0 users.
Update is for both iPhone/iPod Touch and Pharos IV: Assault and Pharos IV: Assault Lite versions.
This latest update for Comic Touch (1.2.2) (direct link to App Store) addresses several issues that popped up with the release of the latest iPhone 3.0 update.
The update fixes UI display, photo rotation issues when going into landcape mode, and image effects display issues.
Please update from within iTunes or using your iPhone/iPod Touch device.
Emails not arriving using Comic Touch? - 2008/07/12 11:58Comic Touch uses an email gateway to send your email - this gateway may not be able to send to private email accounts or groups.
We have to do this because Apple does not allow applications to send attachments via their Mail app. Once Apple allows this - we will definitely change to this method.
If you need to send email to private accounts (i.e. Facebook or other accounts that need email validation) save the comic to your photo library and then use iPhone or iPod Touch Mail application instead.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Re:Emails not arriving using Comic Touch - 2008/07/13 13:58It's not working for me either. I think Facebook wants the file to be named photo.jpg, and not comictouch.jpg.
That's the only difference I can see.
If I save the photo in the photo library then send it to facebook it works.
To test I sent via both methods just to my e-mail account, and both arrive, but one has the attachment named photo.jpg, and the other comictouch.jpg.
So I'm guessing Facebook looks for this, probably to prevent spam images from showing up on your facebook page.
Re:Emails not arriving using Comic Touch - 2008/07/13 14:14Facebook really just be checking the format of the message to be sure its coming from an iPhone. If I send messages manually, just attaching the photo.jpg, it rejects them all. Only messages sent from the Photo Library come through.
I guess it's an antispam measure, which sucks now, because this is why I bought this app too.
So now I have to save it to photo library then go over to there and e-mail it. Yuck...
I would try a service like MessageDance.com, but if you read the fine print they own all usage rights to your photos that passes through their system. The same may be true for ComicTouch though, otherwise why are they sending their photos through their e-mail gateway, instead of letting the phone use it's e-mail account?
Re:Emails not arriving using Comic Touch - 2008/07/13 14:47Okay, found a fairly easy way to do it with MySpace.
You still have to save the ComicTouch photo to your photo library, but once that's done you can use the MySpace iPhone APP to upload the photo (even multiple photos) directly to your MySpace photo library.
This method seems quicker than sending an e-mail from the iPhone Photo Library, which always seems slow to me. And the ability to do Multiple photos really helps speed it up.
The Facebook APP seems to only allow you to Take a photo with the iPhone Camera and upload it, but maybe they will add the ability to Select a photo from the photo library soon. Seems to make sense.

So far, the email functionality has not worked on any email I've tried to send to. Which, unfortunately, was the main reason why I purchased this.
Do you plan on fixing this?
Try sending an email to yourself. Just one email address per email or it will not work (we will fix that in our next update).
What I mean by private email accounts are those that require authorization to be used. For example, Facebook accounts might need to have an email address validated to have the email arrive safely. A non-private email account therefore is one that does not need pre-validation for it to arrive i.e., most user email addresses.
