Not that long ago, in a galaxy not that far away, we released an update to Pharos IV: Assault!
This 1.1 updates unleashes computer assisted torpedo targeting for greater accuracy, resumption from highest level attained - no more starting over from level 1 - and fixed the stutter issue that affected iPhone 3.0 users.
Update is for both iPhone/iPod Touch and Pharos IV: Assault and Pharos IV: Assault Lite versions.
This latest update for Comic Touch (1.2.2) (direct link to App Store) addresses several issues that popped up with the release of the latest iPhone 3.0 update.
The update fixes UI display, photo rotation issues when going into landcape mode, and image effects display issues.
Please update from within iTunes or using your iPhone/iPod Touch device.

Okay, if I can't resize the balloons yet, then I don't need to zoom in/out. It was just a matter of control - just something I'm used to when editing pictures - to better see what I am doing on the pic.
Right now, I am hitting the "Save Comic to Photos" and then viewing (zooming in) them in the Photo app. Then I return to Comic Touch and make minor adjustments to the balloon positions.
Also, I noticed something quite by accident. The text in the balloons is usually all in CAPS - unless I hit the Return Key at the end of the text - then I get upper and lower case text. Is this normal behavior? I hope this stays because I'm now using it in place of bold text, to EMPHASIZE words.
Re:Welcome to Comic Touch! - 2008/07/16 12:43Hi, Kramy --
Thanks for the responses! I probably don't need a manual, but was thinking there were features I hadn't found.
I was trying to resize the balloons so the text fit better; as it stands now, the text sometimes hits the edge of the balloons. Also, I'd love to be able to resize the caption box so it fits the composition of the photo better. The text could wrap inside the box to fill the box at the size I've created, as opposed to back and forth trying to type text with returns to get the box to shape appropriately.
As for zooming in and out and scrolling with word balloons in place when designing a comic, I'd like to be able to control placement better. For instance, if I want a caption at the VERY bottom of what's going to save to the photo app, I may need to scroll along the photo to make that happen (because of the tool bars along the top and bottom of Comic Touch). Also, I guess I was hoping that I could place a balloon somewhere and then zoom the whole image out, shrinking the balloon and text and place a larger balloon elsewhere.
One new "issue:" I've noticed that if I hit return while typing text for either a balloon or a caption box, the font changes from the awesome comic font to a sans-serif font. Is there a way to keep the awesome font throughout?
This is an awesome app and I'm having a blast with it. Just trying to figure out how to best use it. I'll check this thread again tomorrow night and am happy to answer any questions you might have.

This is also what I was talking about regarding the sans-serif font. Seems that MLove and I are hitting on the same issues! I hadn't thought of using the sans-serif upper and lower case stuff to substitute for bold.

Again, thanks for following up!
We will be fixing the Return/change of font issue in the 1.0.1 update.
And then hopefully adding bold text in an update after that.News, hints and sock puppet antics - follow plasqy on Twitter: http://twitter.com/plasq

We are going to be increasing the padding and improve it so text shouldn't hit the edge of the balloons We may look at the ability of adding additional padding in a later version.

We are currently discussing if we can add a way to lock balloons to the background image - so this might make things easier for you.
