Re:Pricing / signup - 2008/07/12 01:42 Wow... a year later and still nothing??

Is it a ploy to get tons of beta users hooked, then slam us with a price and/or subscription fee out of nowhere?

Plasq is making darn sure Skitch is noticed everywhere. I love it as well. But it's certainly concerning to me that they're withholding the pricing information.

Re:Pricing / signup - 2008/09/03 19:43 Hey all.

Really sorry about the silence.

We aren't tricking anyone Just finding it really hard to define our pricing. We want to maintain a free version of both the app and the skitch.com hosting but also finding a way to make money as well. The mix of desktop app and web service is new to us.

I'm glad you love it.. We also love it and use it everyday. We haven't been doing any marketing to get it noticed everywhere though... others just seem to really like it also. Which is nice

Re:Pricing / signup - 2008/09/04 23:58 I think 20 a 25$ for the app is ok.
For the webservice... i don't know

Re:Pricing / signup - 2008/09/09 16:32 In my opinion, the app should be priced at $20 for people who dod not want to buy a hosting package and the basic hosting of 20 MB or so should be free.

Beyond that you could have schemes like 2-4$ a month and the app could be free for people taking up the advanced hosting.

Evernote has a wonderful model and even adopting something similar might be great. If the app and the service rocks like evernote, it will definitely be a success.
