frustration over landscape mode - 2009/04/06 13:30 Hi,
Great app you've done, it responds fast and has great features.

That said I'm very frustrated with it...

I downloaded the app for one purpose: add dialogues to my comics destined for the appstore.
Unfortunately for me, my frames are all in landscape, which is the best format to present comics (check most of the comics sold on the appstore) and comic touch flips my pictures as soon as I turn my Ipod in landscape mode. Adding bubbles to my pages is therefore impossible at the current time and the app useless for me.
Could you please fix what seems like a bug to me (as I can't imagine why anybody would want this to happen) and release a fast intermediate version with a lock on the portrait mode?

Many thanks in advance for considering my request.

Another small request would be to have dropp-shadow free bubbles.

Best regards,
Thierry

Re:frustration over landscape mode - 2009/04/06 15:20 Hello there thierrys,

I can't imagine why anybody would want this to happen

Try using a landscape photo from your Photo library in Comic Touch - you will see why people want it to happen this way.

As you know, the iPod automatically flips the image to landscape mode when you flip the phone -- so not sure why you are making your landscape images displayed into portraits before importing them to the iPod?

Just leave your images as Landscape presented images (on your computer) and then when you go into Landscape mode on your iPod they will look perfect.

Please try that and let me know how you go.

I will add that to the list of requested features.

Hope this helps!

Re:frustration over landscape mode - 2009/04/06 16:26 Hi Krami,
Thanks a lot for your fast reply, I appreciate.

I'm not sure if I understand your solution. I know though that in the 'photos' app it turns it also but my use of the device is as follow:

The fact is that I draw the pictures on the Ipod itself and when I create them I have my device in landscape mode to have a wide picture to draw on. When I save them on my library they are still in landscape.
Therefore, when I upload them in Comic Touch it is immediately displayed in landscape (like the original one) even if I hold the device in portrait. The problem appears when I flip the device in landscape, the picture turns to remain in portrait and is automatically cropped by the app.
Could you try this on your end?

Best regards,

Thierry

one more detail - 2009/04/06 16:43 Krami,
I should add to what I just explained that I would like in the end the comic to be read in landscape mode, just like most of the other comics sold on the appstore.
Please check this example to see what I mean: 'atomic robo' or any other comics from red5comics

ok, I tried your solution - 2009/04/06 17:09 Ok, I tried what you suggested and it worked , but I had to go through my PC to rotate the picture, which is not very handy if I have a large amount of pictures and want to stay on the Ipod to do the whole work. Could there be a possibility for you to allow a rotation of the picture in your soft? I bought several painting on my Ipod soft and none is giving this possibility.
That would solve my problem and make Comic touch usable for me.
Many thanks for your help!

Best,
Thierry

Oh I see - sorry, didn't realise that.

What is one of the applications you are using to do the drawing?

Thanks!
