Comic Life Magiq running slow? - 2009/07/05 00:59Hello. I have a brand-spankin' new MacBook Pro (June 2009), with the 9600m GT active, and every time I use Magiq, it's a sluggish as any application I've ever seen. Is anybody else experiencing this issue on new hardware? Is there a fix that I'm overlooking?
I'm not running any additional applications at the same time, so I know I've got plenty of my 4GB of RAM available.
Re:Comic Life Magiq running slow? - 2009/07/06 11:12Well, I've trashed the preference file, but overall, the application is still running like molasses. It has hit me as very strange, since this is a brand new MacBook Pro and everything else runs very smoothly on it.
Re:Comic Life Magiq running slow? - 2009/07/09 07:25I recorded a video using ScreenFlick, but it has a lot of visible artifacts, and a short video is still over 25MB...so I'll have to come up with a different plan.
However, in the meantime, the operations that seem to take the most time are adding photos to a layout from the right-hand chooser/pane (I'm using Lightroom 2 as my default location) as well as adding effects to text, resizing specialized text, etc.
If I can get that video in a smaller size, it's very evident, especially when adding photos to a layout.
Re:Comic Life Magiq running slow? - 2009/07/21 23:41Unfortunately, I can't get this speed thing figured out, and I can't find any screencasting software that doesn't put a huge watermark on the video unless you fork out the $$$ for it.
