Feature Request - 2005/04/15 15:23 Great Application! I have already made several comics. MacMerc.com had a great article about how to make photos look like comic art and I have converted several photos with the use of photoshop for use in Comic Life. Also, fonts from ComicCraft work wonderfully (Try the Jim Lee Font).

A few things I would like: 1. Ability to slant the frames in other directions or rotate them (give me handles!). 2. Ability to have the speaking bubble come from more than one mouth and also ability to curve the speaking bubble part that comes from the mouth (not sure what it is called). 3. Larger page sizes like 11 X 17. 4. Useful layout primitives like arrows, lightening bolts, boxes with squigly borders or the ability to use primitives or paths from programs like Illustrator (may be possible already, I haven't had a chance to try it) 4. Maybe actually work out a deal with ComicCraft and bundle a few fun fonts with the program. 5. Speed the program up, it is very slow and hangs on my G5 imac and G4 powerbook (possibly due to large iphoto library)

All in all, an excellent 1.0 version. I think the price is reasonable given the competition and abilities of this software!!!

Re:Feature Request - 2005/04/15 16:26 Ditto on the request for the ability to have a balloon coming from more than one speaker. I found that I could overlay one balloon over another but one arrow is then cut by line from the overlapping balloon.
I'd like the ability to flip images, etc.
Excellent work!

Re:Feature Request - 2005/04/15 16:38 thanks gibby, yes, we'll look into the mutiple speech origins for a balloon.

you know, you can flip images.

Select you image (if it's in a panel, just double click the image)

open the details tab..

at the top you will see selection boxes for flipping horizontally and vertically.

(Currently there is a rare bug while may affect clipping if you drag an image which has been flipped. We're looking in to that.)

Characters and Backgrounds - 2005/04/16 03:55 When I bought my LCII many years ago there was a comic book program out that had a number of characters and backgrounds that could be assembled into panels and pages. It worked very much like a "Colorforms" kit where you picked a body, then the arms, etc to make your character. Something like this might be a great add-on.
