Thank you very much for your help testing the future!

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Re:1.2.4 Deluxe upgrade for bundled vers - 2007/10/05 08:42 If I create a new file I get access to the new stylings. If I goto edit one of my old ones, I do not. How do I make them global to all new and existing .comicdoc files?

Unfortunately, the only way to get-around the issue is to start a new document (using Deluxe) and then copy and paste the elements from the old comic to the new comic.

Then save the new file.

Also, I have created custom styles for speech bubbles of characters in the comic I write. How do I make them global styles rather than in the files themselves?

You need to create a new stylesheet and make that the default stylesheet for new comics.

Here's my steps:
1. Drag in a balloon. Deselect balloon. Then reselect by single click.
2. Click on Details tab (top right).
3. Modify the style to whatever you would like.
4. "Save as..." the style (under Details) - and name it something memorable.
5. You can now select this style under the Styles menu.
5. Repeat the process with Captions etc.

This will then be added just for that comic.
If you want these styles applied always to a new comic, you have to change the master stylesheet.

1. Configure the elements as you want them in details - then "Save As..."
2. File->Save Stylesheet... (name something memorable)
3. Quit Comic Life completely and relaunch Comic Life
4. In Preferences (Comic Life > Preferences...) choose the saved stylesheet.
5. Then create a new Comic document. All New comics will use that stylesheet.

Hope that helps.
