Please visit the forum for more information, including where to download the beta.

Thank you very much for your help testing the future!

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/09/09 02:01 Hello again

The latest (and probable final) beta of Comic Life 1.3 has several notable changes.

The new file format has been slightly tweaked, the new multi-picture in a panel feature has been modified (you need to press the Apple/Command key to enable this feature) and the toolbar icons have had a face-lift.

Download it here: (1.3 is now released officially - please download by going to http://plasq.com/downloads/)

Please give it a try -- and for those with a new intel Mac machine, could you specifically try re-saving an old PowerPC file as the new .comicdoc file and try opening it up on your new intel machine.

We would love to hear your feedback and please let us know if you have any issues in this thread.

****

New features include Multiple Images Per Panel, Multiple Tails per Speech Balloon, Rotatable Panels and Text, Email this Comic button, Inter-application pasting, sparkle update system, new handle graphics, styles with graphical preview and more.

****

CAUTION: Due to file format changes, comics created in 1.3 will not open in 1.2... So only work on COPIES of your loved comic files when beta testing!

Old comics created in 1.2 will open in 1.3 though.

Don't delete your 1.2.x version just yet.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/09/09 15:58 There's color fringing around word balloons

http://plasq.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,55/ func,view/id,4462/catid,8/

It seems the inner color extends just beyond the frame. It's not noticed as much with some fills.

I like the way the interface shows an example of the style being chosen, but I wanted to give you the name of the styles so that you could see the difference. Is there an interface that could show names as well as images?

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/09/09 21:03 Just doing some copy and paste tests on word balloons (THANK YOU!) and I noticed word balloons have two different bounding boxes. One for the balloon only and another for the balloon AND tails. When only the balloon is selected, copy and paste doesn't do anything. If you copy the balloon AND the tails, then it copies and pastes as you'd expect and the info is carried over to the clipboard as well.

Not sure what the expected behavior should be at this point, but glad to be able to copy/paste!

This also shows when copying and pasting to other apps.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/09/11 00:33 Holding down "Shift" and dragging corner points does not resize the same way as with 1.2.
