Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/09/30 19:22 Hi,
This is my experience.

• An Intel C2D Mac [OS 10.4.8] created .cld file opens OK in version 1.3 on a Power PC [iBook] when sent as an email attachment.

That was my problem a month or two ago so thank-you for solving that.

• An old PPc made file [.comic] arrived as an attachment to an email on the Intel C2D Mac zipped up as its constituent parts. See attached. It wouldn't open in CL.

• The same file transferred by memory stick to the Intel C2D Mac arrived ok but opened in ComicLife in the Page column only.

I am in danger of becoming confused.
Am I behaving wrongly or is it not possible for a PPC using person to send me a ComicLife file by email?

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/10/01 23:15 Hello there,

I take it you found the .cld file after saving?

1. If you send .comic files via email you need to make sure you .zip up the .comic file first.

2. You will not be able to open up a PowerPC created .comic file using 1.3 still. It needs to be saved as a .cld file. Otherwise, it is still the old Rosetta/intel incompatibility issue. See http://plasq.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,55/ func,view/id,4611/catid,8/ on how to open up .comic files created using a PPC machine on an intel machine using Rosetta emulation.

Hope this helps.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/10/09 11:29 I found a small bug in 1.3b2 -- If you turn on Rulers in the View > Show Rulers menu, then the menu item should switch to "Hide Rulers" but it doesn't.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/10/09 11:57 Hi ww,

Thanks for pointing that out.
It looks like it is actually in 1.2.6 as well

Hopefully we can get that fixed soon

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/11/10 05:14 Hello,

I've noticed that CL Beta documents (.cld) are no longer bundles, as CL .comic documents. With bundles, it's easy to retrieve a picture you might have lost and you know you have used in a comic, by right-clicking on a .comic document and opening the bundle as a folder. With the new format, "opening the contents of the bundle" doesn't appear in the local menu any more.
Is it a new feature? Is it normal behaviour or is it due to the fact that it is still a beta version of CL?

Thanks,

Stéph.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/11/10 18:47 Probably in order to help with the windows conversion effort as the "package" file format just doesn't play well on the Windows side.

I know that in schools and other cross-platform situations, it will be a much needed feature, but maybe a preference could be set so that people ONLY using the Mac can still have access to those extra niceties.
