Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/11/12 11:17 You are correct KeynoteKen - it is to do with cross-platform as well as cross-application.

It is now a single file because it makes it much easier to copy and send around the internet - don't have to zip it - for it be sent via some email applications. Try sending a .comic file without zipping it via Thunderbird - it is not very nice looking!

But how we implement this new file format is still being debated - and the .cld format may still change.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/11/13 06:09 Oh, I know exactly what you mean, Keynote users have the same problems! It also apparently wreaks havoc with content versioning systems.

I think there would be utility for Mac AND PC users in being able to save as a "deconstructed" document. The default should be the new easily transportable (not have to educate a classroom full of students on how to properly transfer files) format, but if the LAST copy of an image is within a .cld file, then have a command that will break the document down into it's parts. This would give it kind of a pdf-ian quality, it could be it's own distiller

For PC users, it would just mean they'd get at their images, for Mac users, it'd convert to an open-able package format with possibly a new extension (so that it can't open in older versions. I'd imagine the folder contents on a PC would look the same as what's in the package on a Mac so that the code trees could stay the same (can PC's support long extensions? maybe clx is available?)
