We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.
It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.
Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...
This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.
If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".
Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.
Comic Life is great for sharing those funny little moments from school, in the office, or while on worldwide progressive-rock-legends tours.
Robert Fripp and Tony Levin have been sharing the day-to-day stories of touring within one of the most influential prog rock bands - on King Crimson’s 40th Anniversary Tour.
Ever wished you had the fun of Comic Life handy at all times? Ever been out at a party, family gathering or on public transport and wished you could add your 'comic touch' to a photo? Now you can!
We're giggling with glee to announce Comic Touch for iPhone and iPod Touch. Add various speech balloons and captions to your photos. Choose a fun special effect to warp and bend your family and friends, then email the results to them!
Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/12/28 23:33For some reason, I keep automatically going for the larger magnifying glass when I want to zoom out and the smaller one when I want to zoom in. Not sure if this is an interface trait from using other apps or just a bad start to the day Otherwise, the colorful icons don't bother me.
In the previous example, clicking the object and zooming in, the blue modification handles remain small. If i deselect and instead simply roll-over the object, the blue modification handles are large and pixelated. Other interface elements such as the "twister" and the "grab handle" are also pixelated, but they're pixelated regardless of how they're selected. The green handles appear to be the same small size zoomed in, zoomed out, selected or rolled over.
When you drag an image out of the frame accidentally (when you're just trying to get it to the edge) it's treated as a new drop and places the image back in the center. Might not be a huge problem, but once when testing this, the drag sound didn't stop. Haven't been able to recreate it. (On careful re-creation, I found that in some cases, I'm not dragging the image beyond the bounds of the frame, yet it gets deselected anyway)

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/12/28 23:48I just got a crash while saving, have sent the crash log.
The audio for dragging doesn't appear to work on the initial drag. If I have two frames on a page and alternate between them clicking and dragging, I never hear the sound. If I drag one then immediately drag it again, I get the audio feedback.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/12/29 00:02Just noticed this is in beta 2 as well. Click the lower right corner of the default rectangle. Drag it past the upper left corner then drag it back to the lower right. You'll notice that the pointer is no longer over the drag point.

Thanks KeynoteKen. We hope to have this fixed in a future update - probably 1.3.2 at this stage.

This is planned to be fixed in 1.3.1.

Sorry KeynoteKen - but I don't quite understand what you mean hear. Are you able to provide screenshots of this occurring?

Nice one! I will log this regression - thanks for picking it up

Have you been able to recreate the crash with the same file? If so, can you please zip the file and email it to us or upload it to a server so we can download it and test it?

Thank you. Not sure if we will get this fixed before 1.3 is released but we will definitely look at fixing it in another update. (UPDATE: sorry, it is meant to work this way - as can be seen by resizing an image - not in a panel - it is designed to 'give' a little bit)
Thanks for all you help KeynoteKen!

I'll see if I can get a screenshot. In it, I'm hoping it'll show that the cursor has not left the bounds of the frame, but it no longer has the orange highlight on it.

Unfortunately, it was the first document I'd created and I was attempting to save it so that I could continue to work on it when it crashed, so I don't have it. I'll see if I can re-create the steps that led to it.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2006/12/29 10:28The word balloons still have the small amount of color fringing present it prior builds. Targeted for a future release?
