We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.
It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.
Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...
This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.
If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".
Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.
Comic Life is great for sharing those funny little moments from school, in the office, or while on worldwide progressive-rock-legends tours.
Robert Fripp and Tony Levin have been sharing the day-to-day stories of touring within one of the most influential prog rock bands - on King Crimson’s 40th Anniversary Tour.
Ever wished you had the fun of Comic Life handy at all times? Ever been out at a party, family gathering or on public transport and wished you could add your 'comic touch' to a photo? Now you can!
We're giggling with glee to announce Comic Touch for iPhone and iPod Touch. Add various speech balloons and captions to your photos. Choose a fun special effect to warp and bend your family and friends, then email the results to them!

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2007/01/01 00:36I've got some serious problems happening with the beta. Here's what I did:
from a macbook, I saved a file as 1.3 (formerly it was created in 1.2).
I then transferred it to my machine (a g5) where I had also downloaded a beta version (1.3).
I opened the file in 1.3 and was so happy to see that I could actually open it and work on it! But then...
After making some changes, quitting, and reopening, many pieces were "missing" I could see them in the thumb, but not in the work window. Also, the app got really messed up--crashed several times, lost the ability to close, open, etc. and I gave up.
Have I lost a couple hours of work? Do I need to go back to 1.2 knowing that my students who are creating on intels won't be able to transfer their stuff to me (on a g5)? Yikes. Please help!

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2007/01/01 00:39One more thing... when it was working, I could not drag images from my desktop onto the work area in ComicLife. I could do this in 1.2. Also, those images (.psd files) could not be added even when I imported them into my iphoto. They act like they can (the plus sign and all), but nothing happens.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2007/01/01 11:20Hi Karen,
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
Is there any chance you are able to zip up the original 1.2.6 file and email it to us : plasq at plasq dot com
What types of changes did you make to the file? Can you reproduce it?
If it is greater than 10 MB are you able to upload it to a site - so that we can ftp download it?
Also, can you send the .psd file (zipped) that you are having problems with - in a separate email - I can't seem to replicate the problem here.
Thanks.

Re:Comic Life 1.3 Beta - 2007/01/02 04:05There's no "Revert" (revert to last saved) command. Could that be put on the list of future enhancements? If I open a file and make a few changes and want to start over, I'd have to close then reopen the document OR undo back to the starting state.
Also, the option to hide the extension doesn't seem to be working. If I save with "Hide Extension" checked, the extension is still there. If I do a Get Info in the finder, the Hide Extension checkbox isn't checked. If I check it there, the extension is properly hidden.
On the attached document, select the lettering object, go into details and decrease the horizontal spread. You should see some leftover artifacts.
