Re:wish list - 2006/08/16 09:56 I've only recently come back to working on a Mac after many frustrations getting audio applications to function properly/reliably in performance situations on a Windows laptop. I'm much happier so far with running my applications on the Mac, but am missing a full-featured and quick performing rack-style application like the Forte application distributed by Brainspawn. Unfortunately Forte is a Windows only app, so I've been looking for a Mac alternative.

Rax seems like it is moving in a great direction, but the performance when moving between songs is far too slow - with Forte you can nearly instantaneously load up a new song with different instrument presets in the rack.

Another wishlist for me would be to fix the bug in the current version that prevents MIDI automation of the mixer - I really need the ability to mute/solo instruments using a controller on my MIDI keyboard when performing, and the fact that this isn't working in the current version is holding me back from purchasing it at this point.

just went over the RAX forum and grabbed past requests.

Here are the most common:

*Rewire*, Multiple Outputs and routing, QuickTime, MTC Sync, Universal build, basic built in EQ, basic Midi sequencer, basic audio file player

also, inverse to the midi and audio is don't add this complexity and stick to the 'Rack mount sound module / effect" with low CPU and high stability (as it is now)

We are not sure what direction to take yet.

Hi,

I'd say, keep it simple. BUT with Rewire added. PLEASE!

Re:wish list - 2006/10/23 02:08 I downloaded the demo and i really like how your software is now!

I had NI Kore for few days and it felt like being an alpha tester. It's so full of bugs and it crashed constantly and I could never use it live. Also the GUI in Rax is very nice and much more mac-like, than in Kore. It looks very amateurish (referring to the live mode). Great!!!!

Here's my wishlist:

-REWIRE

-TAP TEMPO or is it already there? also so that i could assign a midi control to it. this would be so great to use with some effects

-PRESETS WITHING A PRESET. Kore has these and it's logical, that I might use some combos of the loaded instruments for the different parts withing a song. Kore also gives possibility to crossfade between the presets withing one song. And of course there should be a possibility to assign changing these to a midi controller too.

-the preset-list in onstage-mode is cool, but also a bit messy (when scrolling throught the list). When choosing the song-name, maybe the song names at the background could be a bit darker so the current song name would be clearly visible. but the overall graphic interface in onstage-mode is very cool!! Especially after trying out Kore: I love it!

-ABILITY TO LOAD VST-INSTRUMENTS

Re:wish list - 2006/10/30 10:49 It would be great if Rax could send MIDI signals out to hardware synths modules. I use both software and hardware synths and when using Rax I need to use a little program like Midipipe or MIDI Patchbay to get the signals where I want them. It would be wonderful to unify this within Rax.

Please keep polishing this gem of a program.

thanks

Re:wish list - 2006/11/02 00:24 What Mark said!

Just emailed plasq w/ this request... the ability to slave outboard boxes to Rax midi sync would make this the perfect software for my needs (playing backing tracks for my band).

As a guitarist using tempo-sensitive effects (like Adrenalinn), that would make everything nice, tight, and easy...

Re:wish list - 2007/01/29 05:11 I have a simple wish for Rax, which may mean it might actually happen soon!

It would be great for Rax to be able to generate a click to use as a click track when recording or practicing, etc.. Just a simple click at the set tempo. No need for time signatures or accented/unaccented, etc. Just click. With a button (maybe up by the Tempo) to turn it on or off. A bonus would be to be able to have the click be a midi output that you could assign a route/channel/note/velocity to. That would do it!

Right now I'm looking at making a really long midi file with a bunch of quarter notes, but that's kind of messy.

Love Rax! I'm using it to host Drumkit From Hell Superior for my eDrums. Rocks!
