Comic Life for Windows and Comic Life for Mac have both been recently updated.

You may find the release notes for Comic Life for Windows (1.3.6) here and Comic Life for Mac (1.4.3) here.

This update is also for the Deluxe version.

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 Beta released
We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.

It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

 transparent image - 2005/04/22 12:21 I'm new to comic life and I like it so far...except, is there a way to have two images in one panel? i.e. drag in a background image and then add a character image (say a .png or .psd) with transparency. I'm thinking of using ComicLife for storyboarding, where often the BG is repeated and the character pose changes. If you can show me how to do this I'm buying this app.
PS It needs a speed boost.

 Re:transparent image - 2005/04/22 12:56 we decided to allow only one image per panel (in the intial releases anyway) to keep things simple for most users.

If you would like to have a few pictures look like they are in the same frame, then simply
1) add a new frame, and drag your picture into that fram
2. Drag your second image into that frame
3. Set the frame's attributes to have no border, no fill and no shadow.
4. drag the new 'invisible frame' onto your exisiting picture. Images which have an alpha layer will work.

And a great use of a style - call it something like "Invisi-Panel". The you can easily set new panels to have those features.

(We'll put Invisi-Panel in the next release.)

 Re:transparent image - 2005/04/22 14:57 Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not working well for me, I'm getting weird things happening, where one image seems to be masking the other idependently of the frame. Also I WANT a border on the frame I dont really want it to be invisible. I think this could be a great feature if you could get it to work, I'm sure comic book artists would like to re-use BGs too. Thanks for your quick response and any more suggestions would be appreciated.

In my example you need to use two panels, the bottom on is the 'visible one' whereas the additional image is inside an 'invisible' one.

What image type (.png etc) are you using?

could you show an example of what you would like to achieve?
