I love it. - 2007/01/07 12:47
I have been using soft-synths enthusiastically for several years now. They are great in the studio, but using them live has always presented a dilemma. Assigning MIDI channels, switching instruments, not to mention balancing, effecting, or equalizing. Rax resolves alot of these issues very smoothly. I bought the software uncertain that I would like it, but I'm in! Now that I've done the commercial, there are some needed improvements. Of course, I say this as a complete supporter of the software, I think it is a very important step for keyboardists, or anyone who likes to use soft-synths and a laptop in a real/live environment. First, we need more control of what happens in 'On Stage' mode. I would like to be able to access the mixer, perhaps even make notes. I also think we could be making better use of the space on screen. I have a 17in Powerbook, and would love a larger view of the visualizer. The info in the set list window, since it's only in the center, couldn't that window be smaller? As could the audio load, notes, and system load windows. I'm told Electrik Piano(NI) which doesn't work currently, will shortly. That's a good thing. I am a producer in L.A. as well as a musician. I do alot of high-end projects and love to use my powerbook as a synth-box. I will continue to check back at the site to see what advances might be made. I hope the company is doing well so the software can continue to grow. Thanx for the innovation. Ren
