How Auto play works... - 2007/01/07 19:11 Am I understanding how the autoplay functions work in the onstage mode? I guess my initial assumption was that onstage would automatically step through each song in a set without having to manually move through each one. It also seems that if auto play is not clicked in the midi file window, the file will not play at all on stage even when manually selected. Am I mis-reading how these things should function? I guess I was expecting OnStage to go through a set of songs automatically in order unless the performer intervened and selected something on the fly, and that midi files not auto play clicked would still work manually in the OnStage section......

Re:How Auto play works... - 2007/01/19 07:53 Hi there Dan,

MIDI playback does in fact work like you said, it's a single shot, and then Rax awaits instructions to play the next song.

If you have a look in Preferences-> Onstage, you can see that you can use a MIDI event to trigger the next song. Hopefully that will help you get through your sets. We'll take a note of your desire to run through the whole lot without stopping, but there is no current timeline for that feature change.

I hope this helps

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the reply. I will do a little playing around with the onstage preferences and see if I can find my solution. I'd rather have rax recognize tempo changes anyway. I do a lot of jazz stuff and some of it plays with tempo changes for double time feels and variations in styles where tempo adjustments can smooth things out. I have a gig next month with a new format of how things are going to be done and Rax figures heavily into this process. Thanks
