Comic Life packs a lot of 'Brawn'!
Cranium Comics has recently launched their first four color comic, Brawn #1.

"I used Comic Life on my Mac exclusively to lay out the storyboards, then later when I created and colored all 24 pages of the issue," recounted Anthony Rezendes, the owner of Cranium Comics and co-creator of Brawn.

The comic 'Brawn' focuses on a dockworker named Sam Ross who was reborn as the hero "Brawn" after he was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident.

"Being an illustrator, it saved me quite a bit of time from having to lay all the text bubbles out manually. It made the process of actually creating the comic that much more enjoyable," Mr. Rezendes added.

We think this comic is great! So check out 'Brawn' on the Cranium Comics site or read the first 5 pages on our Comic Life gallery.

Re:Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/17 02:00 Interconnectivity is on the rise, shame to see Wormhole go away. Current revs freebie and open source development.

Re:Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/17 14:03 Wow. This is truly depressing news. Congratulations on your successes, but the audio world really is losing out hard on this. As much as I like some open source stuff, I'd be frightened to see Rax open source. I'm just really bummed.

Re:Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/17 23:40 Please do something with Rax soon whether it' free open source or otherwise.
I've been testing it out on my old G4 and although I was getting occational crashes I was about ready to purchase it so I wouldn't be limited to only one VI.

Re:Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/18 01:15 I purchased RAX have found it to be one of those essential and unique Mac applications. This is not an application that should dissapear.

I suggest that you *do not* open source it or give it away, as that will permanently devalue it. While there might be an immediate thrill among some people to get such a great little app for free, in the long run development would cease and you would not be able sell it to a developer that would keep it going.

Ambrosia is not the company to sell it to in my opinion. They make games and other utilities and would have the same issues with it that you have, i.e. does it fit their product mix or is it a distraction.

A better fit might be with a company that already makes plugins, so that there would be an immediate symbiotic relationship between RAX and the rest of their product line.

Companies that come to mind are Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, East West, Yellow Tools to name a few. These companies make software instruments that run beautifully on RAX, so it's a perfect fit.

I used RAX and some of the above software instruments to program a show here in Los Angeles. The software (version 1.xx at that time) ran flawlessly and there was and is nothing out there that can do the same thing.

It would be a terrible loss for RAX to get frozen where it is and gradually fade away. For this reason I encourage you to try to get some value from it and sell it to a developer that will keep improving it. I don't see that happening with open sourcing or giving it away for free, so I highly discourage you from doing that.
