A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

CL Testimonial Thread - 2005/04/23 06:38 I just thought I'd start a thread where CL users can consolidate their testimonials for the application.

(DISCLAIMER: By posting in this thread, it should be assumed that your post can be used by the CL team however they see fit.)

I'll start by quoting my comments from MacUpdate:
Brilliant! This is the first software I can recall that I've been thinking about for a couple of days after just a glance at it...the creative potential for this is wide open. In anticipation of fitting the purchase of Comic Life into the family budget, I showed the software to my wife. Her eyes lit up, and she immediately ejected "SCRAPBOOK! This is a perfect tool for making my scrapbook! Buy it!"

So, just thought I'd toss that into the mix for ya there.

Excellent job! I'm looking very much forward to playing with Comic Life and coming up with all sorts of things.

(NOTE TO APPLE: You'd be insane not to jump all over this as a premium for .Mac members!)

...and now, my comments from versiontracker:
Quite simply, the coolest, most enjoyable app I've seen in years!
- Version: 1.0.1b, 4/23/2005 02:03PM PST
(captkevman_dotmac)

Every once in a while, a piece of software comes around that simply blows you away. Comic Life is that software. Its concept is so basic that you wonder why nobody thought of this sooner, and its execution is so elegantly simple that you realize this could only have been developed on the Mac, and only then by a talented team that "think(s) different".

Since seeing Comic Life for the first time last week, I was blown away with the potential of this application. After playing with it, I was blown away by its intuitiveness and simplicity. When introduced at $40, I thought it was a great deal. In the week since its introduction, the developers have been working diligently on improving the application, and have issued two updates (1.0.1 and 1.0.1b). They have also dropped the standard license fee to $25, which makes it a no-brainer as far as a purchase.

Don't be fooled by the name. Comic Life is an ideal solution for all sorts of projects: Comic Strips, Scrapbooking, Greeting Cards, Family Newsletters, Step-By-Step Guides, ComicBlogs, Satire/Parody, and even Video (think of using this with a "pan-and-scan" photo-to-movie application and iMovie).

Professional designers: put this in your toolkit alongside Photoshop and Illustrator, and your possibilites are wide open.

Built-in integration with .Mac (dot-mac) makes this an ideal solution for those with .Mac accounts.

plasq's Comic Life is to images what Apple's GarageBand is to music: extremely fun, easy to use, and jaw-droppingly inspirational.

I also intend to do a full-fledged review of Comic Life, if I can make the time to do so (although where it will be published, I have no clue).

Keep up the fantastic work, plasq! This is a truly inspirational application!

Re:CL Testimonial Thread - 2005/04/23 07:05 Thanks for doing this captkevman!

About the review - do you have a blog? You could post it on there if you do. If not, you could start blogging check out: http://www.blogger.com/

Or just post it here on the forum as a new thread. If suitable, we could post it link to it in the side bar so people actually find it

Re:CL Testimonial Thread - 2005/04/23 07:17 Well, I founded a couple of websites last year; one of them tanked (MacJukebox), and one of them was handed over to more knowledgeable folks (MacMovieMaker). I have another site in the works, but it's a long way from being complete, so I wouldn't want to delay posting the review until it's ready to launch.

I suppose I could put it on my blog, but nobody ever visits it (although, maybe I could be a pioneer in the new ComicBlogging revolution that CL is going to start!) No matter...I'll write the review anyhow, and figure out what to do with it later.

There are some great comments on VT and MU. I wish I had a way to contact them and ask If we could quote them on the site
