Future of Rax and Wormhole2 - 2007/02/08 18:33
Hey plasq fans/customers/sock puppet aficionados,
plasq and it's members started as a Audio / Music focused crew who also happened to do Comic Life. While a quirky combination, it proved to be an incompatible mix for a small company. Not to mention as humanoids like you, our minds and hearts wander and we found ourselves more interested in the visual side of software. The quirky bit isn't going to change though 
We decided to focus on directions where we believe we can make the biggest difference and also enjoy what we do. With the excitedly received announcement of Skitch and of course, Comic Life, you can see this direction taking form.
Be sure, we didn't make this decision lightly, but have decided to stop selling Rax 2 and Wormhole2.
We will certainly continue to offer support for Rax 2 and Wormhole 2 for existing licensed users for a year after purchase date, give or... give, an extra half a year on top of that.
We are still very proud of these products however - so it seems a terrible waste to just let them die.
So... what now? Well, we want your thoughts on exactly that!
Some of the options:
* Sell them to a company that better suits the products (and vice versa!)
* Release for free but without support or updates. (owners will still receive support)
* Open source the projects.
** Wormhole might make sense to hand over to a project like Jack / JackOS X
