We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.
It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.
Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...
This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.
If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".
Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.
Comic Life is great for sharing those funny little moments from school, in the office, or while on worldwide progressive-rock-legends tours.
Robert Fripp and Tony Levin have been sharing the day-to-day stories of touring within one of the most influential prog rock bands - on King Crimson’s 40th Anniversary Tour.
Ever wished you had the fun of Comic Life handy at all times? Ever been out at a party, family gathering or on public transport and wished you could add your 'comic touch' to a photo? Now you can!
We're giggling with glee to announce Comic Touch for iPhone and iPod Touch. Add various speech balloons and captions to your photos. Choose a fun special effect to warp and bend your family and friends, then email the results to them!
issues & Hope to haves~ - 2007/06/01 10:39I've actually been waiting for a windows version since the mac version's come out, so i was pretty excited about this.
So far the experience has been better than average, but not as good as expected I guess.
Frustrating Issues 1. several times I get hit with an 'out of memory' popup or the assertion error, which is extremely frustrating, because I was only using comic life and no other program. And when either messages pop up, it really means that i lost everything I just did ... pages of comics. 2. sometimes the delete button doesn't cut/delete a pic/ballon or anything, and i have to go to the file-edit-cut/delete 3. delete button doesn't work for deleting text 4. can't access pics in subfolders of the main directory. i.e. all folders in My Picture can be seen, but folders like My Picture-Folder 1-subfolder x can not be accessed, which is sort of inconvenient
HOPE TO HAVES I really hope for comic life to be able to have the following. 1. progressive auto-saving 2. recover last project 3. simple built in pic editor, for simple drawing or overlay. sometime you just want to add a couple of lines e.g as a wind effect or movement effect, and it is troublesome to have to go to photoshop for something like that.
Re:issues & Hope to haves~ - 2007/06/02 01:50Hello Takako,
Thanks for posting.
1. several times I get hit with an 'out of memory' popup or the assertion error,
Are you able to take a screenshot and email it to clwinbeta@plasq.com along with what you were doing at the time please?
2. sometimes the delete button doesn't cut/delete a pic/ballon or anything, and i have to go to the file-edit-cut/delete
Definitely using the 'Delete' key? In beta 2 the 'Backspace' key will also work - could this have been the problem?
And what do you mean by 'Cut'? Delete key should 'Delete' you won't be able to paste like you can when using 'Cut'.
3. delete button doesn't work for deleting text
Thank you - I will try to get this fixed before the next beta.
4. can't access pics in subfolders of the main directory. i.e. all folders in My Picture can be seen, but folders like My Picture-Folder 1-subfolder x can not be accessed, which is sort of inconvenient
This will be fixed in Beta 2.
HOPE TO HAVES
Thanks for your suggestions.

Re:issues & Hope to haves~ - 2007/06/02 09:35thanks for the response, i will try to give you a screenshot, or run by what exactly i was doing that caused the errors...
about the delete key, you know when you select for example a picture in your comic you can press delete to delete it. But i have come to several instances where the delete button doesn't respond, and i have to go to edit--delete to get rid of it. after i do that, the delete button seems to work again. not sure why but it has happened to me on at least 5 occassions.
As for another bug I forgot to mention, but I am sure I've seen others notice, is the speech ballons aren't WYSIWYG when you export it, and also distort when you save it.
ANOTHER HOPE TO HAVE:
1. hope that when you drag speech ballons over the existing it could change the style. e.g drag square balloon over round ballon to change it
THANKS! keep up the great work ... this is a very innovative program, and i'd definately purchase it when it is released
Re:issues & Hope to haves~ - 2007/06/05 13:20sorry, I didn't resize the pic so it wasn't attached to the previous message. I wil email it to you ... I have Screen Captures of 2 assertion errors, one in line 311 which occurs very often, and another error on line 1576
There also seems to be a problem when during one of the times I have tried to save .. were either an assertion error occured, or an out of memory error occured, anyway, I assume it didn't overwrite my existing saved file, but in fact it must have, because it caused an error to that saved file, and I can't open it properly. e.g, The size of the .comicdoc file is 5MB has over 10 pages, but when you open it, it only displays the first page, without any pics. I have also sent you a copy of this file if you want to check it .. if by any chance you can get the file to work, I would really like it back, since I spent hours doing it.
Re:issues & Hope to haves~ - 2007/06/08 16:28* some of the issues raised were handled via email *
