Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Also in Windows Vista, the program keeps trying to activate the Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host. I'm wondering if that's necessary? I'm trying to avoid adding it on my firewall rules.

Sorry - but I don't quite understand the issue... What is Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host trying to search for? The native comic life .comicdoc file format?

Comic Life does check for updates every 5 reloads -- so it might be that, which is triggering the firewall?

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 2 - 2007/08/10 16:05 Thanks Kramy for the quick reply!

I'll try to get more details about this. The firewall hasn't been prompting me the last two times I used Comic Life, so I don't know what the pattern is.

One more bug report:
1. Undo history sequence seems confused at times. e.g. I did action 1, action 2 and action 3 in that sequence, so I would expect undo history to undo the actions in the reverse order. Sometimes that isn't the case. I'm still trying to find a pattern to it as it doesn't happen all the time. It occurs most often when I apply styles to the pictures as one of the actions?

Anyway, I just thought to let you guys know that you're doing a great job! I've been meaning to get Comic Life since I first saw the product a year or two ago, and now that it is being ported to Windows which is what I have at the moment, even better!

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 2 - 2007/08/11 00:46 First of all this is an awesome program ... and thank you for creating a Windows version.

But one thing that I find annoying is that many times when I click on the tools icon (at the left lower part of the screen - by the page plus and minus icons) I get a "Are you sure that you want to delete this page?" message box. The "Delete page..." popup menu is too close to the bottom of that popup and people will accidently click on it when they click on the tools icon.

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 2 - 2007/08/11 01:28 It would be great if the panels could be automatically formatted to allow the page numbers to fit within the margins. Right now when you add page numbers (apply to all pages) the page numbers fall on top of the panels or off the margins and do not get printed.

Thank you.

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 2 - 2007/08/11 01:34 Sorry of this was already mentioned ... but you select "Close" from the File drop down menu ... it should close the currently opened comic but still keep the program open.

In addition to the "New Window" option, the file menu should also include a "New" option that opens up a new work space within the same program window.

These are typical Windows options that most Windies are used to seeing and working with in regards to project workflows.

Thank you!

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 2 - 2007/08/11 01:41 When I tag panels the tag numbers do not appear until I click within the panels. They should cleanly appear right away. In addition, when I select "untag" to remove the tags ... you have to refresh the page to clear the panel tags.

Also ... the program crashed (only one time so far) when I selected Tag Panels.

Thank you ...
