Download Comic Life Windows beta 3 - 2007/08/27 15:38 Here is Comic Life Windows beta 3!

Please UNINSTALL your old version of Comic Life BEFORE INSTALLING the b3 version.

A new beta serial is below for use during this beta

Remember it is still a beta. So remember anything can still go wrong! We do try our best to make it as reliable as possible - but as it is a beta, we do ask that you are cautious and don't recommend using it for time-critical work in case anything goes awry.

If you come across any bugs, please report them to us using this thread.
If you have any crash logs or screenshots to send that will help with your report, please email us:

Using the new beta serial will disable the 'Please Register' watermark until the 1st of October, 2007.

Release notes for 1.3.4 B3

Bug Fixes in 1.3.4 (49):
* File menu modifications regarding New Comic, Close, Close and New Comic
* File > Close is no longer active unless more than one comic is open
* Export quality is now improved
* Improved Registration handling
* Help file has been updated
* The functionality of the Bigger and Smaller toolbar buttons have been enhanced
* Text font size is now being shown correctly in the Fonts menu
* Lettering with shadows now copies to other applications
* Lettering can now be copy and pasted within the application more reliably
* More reliable launching on computers with many images
* Cut/Copy/Paste no longer interferes with document saving
* Can now 'Check for Updates' in the Help menu
* GIF images now preserve transparent backgrounds when dragging into Comic Life
* Lettering can now have its font modified from the Fonts option in the Toolbar
* Balloons no longer format three text periods as a '0' on reloading of a saved document
* The Comic Life installer now installs the Comic Life shortcut in the All Programs list on other accounts on the system

Known Bugs/Limitations in 1.3.4 (49):
* Printing to the Adobe Acrobat PDF Virtual Printer Driver or any other Print-to-PDF service is not supported
* No TGA, PSD or PDF file type support
* Crashes when clicking on Fonts when a Panel or Image is selected
* Some computers become temporarily out-of-action ('hanging') when printing
* When changing styles, the latest chosen style is not reflected in the drop down Style menu
* Performance issues when scrolling through Photo library (slow if a folder has many items)

Had a user report that the Bigger and Smaller buttons are not working on Balloons after click on them once and then intermittently when double clicking on them.

Anyone else having troubles with the Bigger and Smaller buttons in the Toolbar?

Just got this report from an anonymous source in the comments section of the b3 announcement blog:

"Placing BMPs on the frames sometimes would result in blank frames. And if it doesn't show up as blank, sometimes they wouldn't export."

I can't reproduce the issue.
