We are delighted to offer a beta of our upcoming Comic Life Magiq 1.0.3 update.

It has numerous stability and significant performance improvements over 1.0.2.1 - so we would love previous users to download and let us know if you come across any issues.

Please visit the forum for more information, including where to download the beta.

Thank you very much for your help testing the future!

Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 3 - 2007/09/18 14:00 Hello Geoff,

Apologies for the problems you have had.

This is definitely a new one!

Are you able to give a description of what you were doing so that we can try and replicate the memory leak you mentions. Can you reproduce the leak with some certain steps?

Are you able to .zip the file up and upload it to a website or use a program like http://www.pando.com/ to send me the file?

Email to clwinbeta@plasq.com (if file less than 10mb - you can just email it too).

Thanks for your help.

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 3 - 2007/09/20 07:56 I have the same issue with the print preview, it doesn't actually crash but it takes about 15 minutes to get the preview to show.

While waiting for the preview, device manager shows Comic Life taking up 50% of the CPU (ie one full core) and 500-800 mb of RAM.

The page is quite simple with 5 images, some text and speech bubbles.

I'm using a PC with 2GB of RAM and a T2500 2GHz processor.

Printing is also pretty slow, about a minute per page to send to the printer, which is directly attached by USB2.

Great product though, can't wait to buy the finished version!

Thanks!

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 3 - 2007/09/20 11:33 Comic Life Beta V3 - I have been using the Comic Life Beta Test for Windows on the network at school with students - seems to work find on Administrator log in buyt when students log in on their log in (which has restricted rights) the program often crashes - and doesnt save - if they are quick enough to finish and export their comic as an image, it works but today a whole class's work crashed before they finished I'm looking forward to the full release of the program and hope that that copy doesnt have the same problems.

Re:Download Comic Life Windows beta 3 - 2007/09/20 11:59 Hi Peta,

This is unusual.

We have a few schools running tests for us and none have mentioned this.

So it won't be fixed unless we can get some help from you

Could you please contact us via email: clwinbeta@plasq.com - you should be getting Crash.dmp files in the directory that Comic Life is installed.

If not, please let us know via email. We would definitely like to get this kind of issue resolved.

Thanks heaps.
