Comic Life packs a lot of 'Brawn'!
Cranium Comics has recently launched their first four color comic, Brawn #1.

"I used Comic Life on my Mac exclusively to lay out the storyboards, then later when I created and colored all 24 pages of the issue," recounted Anthony Rezendes, the owner of Cranium Comics and co-creator of Brawn.

The comic 'Brawn' focuses on a dockworker named Sam Ross who was reborn as the hero "Brawn" after he was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident.

"Being an illustrator, it saved me quite a bit of time from having to lay all the text bubbles out manually. It made the process of actually creating the comic that much more enjoyable," Mr. Rezendes added.

We think this comic is great! So check out 'Brawn' on the Cranium Comics site or read the first 5 pages on our Comic Life gallery.

Slow and Bulky - 2007/10/18 08:47 I just bought the windows version of Comic Life. It is slow and bulky. What size machine did you test it on? I am running it on a Pentium 4 2.80 Ghz on 1 gig of ram.

It takes forever just to print ONE page to PDF. And the program crashes if there are too many pictures in the photos album (I know that you are working on this problem).

I hope to see improvements to the overall responsiveness of this program very soon. It must be able to handle large amounts of graphics ... otherwise this program was a waste of my money and is useless as a "comic" book creation program.

Re:Slow and Bulky - 2007/10/18 12:33 That machine should be more then capable of running CL.
Our computers at school run them on something way worse, and I have not noticed any performance issues.

*I recommend you defrag your computer, and or run a virus and spyware scan.

This is actually a known limitation and is listed here.

If you are getting a crash log please email that along with details of what is causing the crash to : clwinbeta@plasq.com

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Re:Slow and Bulky - 2008/03/16 19:47 Once a Comic Life Project surpasses a certain number of pages, it becomes unworkably slow.

What do users do to speed up ComicLife?
Is there a way to automatically export half of a comicdoc document?

Re:Slow and Bulky - 2008/03/19 20:54 Hi Jamal,

Generally we recommend not to use a lot of shadows when you are working on a comic - but add them afterwards.

Some people have been known to create comics with 100 pages. Others prefer to create volumes of 10 to 15 pages to keep the speed up.

Are you using 1.4.1?

Best wishes.
