Comic Life Magiq 1.0.2.1 update released
A free update for Comic Life Magiq is available for all users.

Identical to 1.0.2c in all but version number, which has been changed to ensure 1.0.2 users are made aware of the 1.0.2c update via the menu: Comic Life Magiq > Check for Updates...

This 1.0.2.1 update is recommended for all 1.0.2 users and fixes a serious saving issue introduced in 1.0.2 that caused images to be left out of the document.

If you're already running 1.0.2c (v10939) you can "Skip This Version".

Head to the plasq downloads page to get the 1.0.2.1 update or update from within Comic Life Magiq.

Re:Comic Life comics won't open in Magiq - 2008/07/30 21:30 Thanks everyone for your feedback.

We plan on adding an exporter in Comic Life with its next major update - 1.5. We hope to release this in the next few months.

For me it would be enough if the Comic Life Styles would be converted.

Hans-Joachim, The Deluxe styles in Comic Life were made available in 1.0.1.

You can download the trial: http://plasq.com/downloads/ - and give it a go to see if that helps.

Thanks again.

Re:Comic Life comics won't open in Magiq - 2008/07/30 22:29 Thank you for the answer. I downloaded it, but maybe I am too unexperienced to find the one styleI seek.

I am searching for the metal style which I used a a background.

Could you help me?

Best regards
Hans-Joachim

Re:Comic Life comics won't open in Magiq - 2008/07/31 02:13 Hello again Hans-Joachim,

It seems we forgot to add the background styles into the Deluxe template.

But have no fear - here they are!

Just download, then unzip the file, and move it too: (User account)~/Library/Application Support/plasq/Comic Life Magiq/Templates

Then you will find this and all the styles under File > New From Template...

The "metal style" one is the second choice under "Template Pages".

Let me know how you go!

Re:Comic Life comics won't open in Magiq - 2008/07/31 03:25 Thank you!

But there is a problem. When I open the file, I can see the Template pages on the right. But when I save the templates wit "Save as template" somehow the template pages vanish. I can not see them any more. I tried it with several file names. I selected this new template from the start menue of Magiq and I used New from Template. The template pages keep empty.

But since I can use the file I downloaded it is fine for me. Ah, before I forget: Template Page 2 is not really the same as the metal style but close enough for me. Thank you for your help.

Release Magiq in a German version and I am happy However, I just purchased the program.

Best regards
Hans-Joachim

Re:Comic Life comics won't open in Magiq - 2008/07/31 15:51 Sorry - here are the correct instructions (now amended above):

Just download, then unzip the file, and move it too: (User account)~/Library/Application Support/plasq/Comic Life Magiq/Templates

Template Page 2 is not really the same as the metal style but close enough for me.

I tried to make it the same as possible - I must be missing something, what in particular is different?

Thanks!

Yes, we hope to release a German update in the future months. It will be free. Thanks again.

Re:Comic Life comics won't open in Magiq - 2008/07/31 18:15 Thank you again. The template works now.

For the style:

The gradient looks different. In Comic Life there is a white wedge (I hope I used the right english term) at the upper right corner. I don't mean the white frame.

This wedge is missing in Comic Life Magiq.

Best regards
Hans-Joachim
